That is a fantastic picture. I just don't understand the it's a monstrosity mob. I must be getting ****ing old they do my ****ing head in. I think it's awesome.
I agree, it's sort of so left field it represents the uniqueness of the city, which makes it stunning.
Credit and respect to the CoC organisers. Another positive write up in the national media, and some additional side links too. Old Masters and deep-fried mash: a postcard from Hull, the UK City of Culture http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/d...-hull-a-postcard-from-the-uk-city-of-culture/ A small sample off the linked article. "Much to feed the mind, then, but what about the body? Well, while there are plenty of cultured menus in the city’s pubs and restaurants, the local speciality is the humble pattie: a battered and deep-fried sphere of mashed potato, seasoned with sage. These little slabs of cholesterol are the source of much pride in the city and are usually served with chips; fried potato, with a side of fried potato, then. Hardly the cornerstone of a healthy diet, granted, but like Hull itself – a friendly and unpretentious city – I really rather enjoyed it." WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE.
apparently the council didnt get planning permission for it, so now the council are trying to get retrospective permission. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/blad...eam-discover/story-30069441-detail/story.html

He's right about the expensive rail fares....no wonder lots of people go on the ferry to Holland and Belgium- it's cheaper, friendlier, food and drink are better, and they speak better English.
I was told that there is a possibility of the light show being done again later in the year as many have seemingly asked the CofC... Can anyone confirm.?!
Martin Green said on RH that there's been a big call to do it again. He said they really want to try different things but never say never. If they do I think new footage. I Would like to see a big Victorian Xmas Market in Trinity square
I think some are not interested in arts and things while others are sceptical we'll end up paying it as taxes elsewhere "unrelated" are put up over the next few years while some other people make money out of it. Each to their own I guess but that's some reasons I've heard.
It's just strange silence while they kill any atmosphere by reading the away team out (which is wrong and shouldn't be done).
