Not a chance, those plans were well any truly binned. In fact, the new Hull Venue is on the site they were going to expand onto.
That breaking news is a good few weeks old now but it's nonetheless bloody brilliant news. Can't wait.
I think you will find that in the article about the new venue it was mentioned that the owners of Princes Quay planned to expand up to the new venue and included all the land at the back up to and including the old ambulance station
Any idea when PQ will get this 'outlet' floor going? The gym has been kicked out now so that's another 2 empty spaces.
I've got a mate opening an outlet store in there early next month, though oddly it's on the walkway in, not on the outlet floor.
This outlet idea is a joke. It simply won't work, not with the people they have elected to run it. They can't even fill all the units at Castleford and that is a dedicated outlet centre, right on the door step of Xscape which seems packed to the rafters most days, lots of units shut or units with closing down stickers in the Windows at Castleford, I was in Cas Vegas yesterday for a meeting and had a quick look around. As bad as I ever remembered it to be.
Or a semi-colon. Or a tilde. (No reason for the latter, was just itching for the excuse to use that in a post).
When they first launched Juntion 32 it was very successful and as a consequence the rents went sky high and now they've overpriced it and killed it. There's no such issue at Prinny Quay, it's very cheap to go in there and there's quite a lot of tenants signed up already.
I think, linking City of Culture withn Siemens and others investing in Hull is a bit of poetic licence.
Arn't a lot of these Outlet places held by fund managers who are constantly trying to squeeze every last penny out of their properties ??
