Ticket release date for Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017 in Hull announced... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/tick...0228960-detail/story.html#l2tVwlKEd1LBOFqC.99
This is disgraceful. It encourages mindless violence and someone could be seriously hurt. Ban it mods, nip it in the bud
I can't believe some of the ****e people are coming out with on Burnsy's show this morning, loads of people whining that you have to pay £13 for a coach to the Radio 1 Big Weekend, along with an £8 ticket handling fee. Presumably these people don't normally get out much.

I've seen all the comments on Facebook about how it's not free. There will be literally hundreds of acts. Some big names. 3 stages. For 2 people with parking, bus and admin fee it will cost about £50. Thats a bargain. You'd be looking at four time that at any other festival without parking. I regularly pay may than that for normal gigs let alone festivals. It baffles me the sense of entitlement some people have. Still at least it gives me more chance of tickets. If I were to moan about anything with the big weekend it would be that you have to buy tickets before the acts are announced. Makes it risky picking a day.
I think there are some reasonable complaints. Obviously £20 to see this stuff is a very reasonable price, but to call the tickets free when there's mandatory costs involved is complete bollocks, and people are always going to be disappointed when they find out it's not true. I don't know why they'd need to lie in the first place. Just say the tickets are £20 and come with free travel. It's not like there'd be a lack of interest. The travel thing seems really weird. They're telling people not to walk or cycle there, providing no parking and stating that there's no facility to pick up or drop off. Everyone has to use the shuttle from the city centre; even if you live next door to the venue. That's like something West Yorkshire Police would come up with.
