I agree that Hull deserved to win because we were shocking at creating chances tonight, but can't agree with wanting to go out in the 3rd. I hated the mantality we had in the cupos for a while, and want to see us trying our best in every competition. At least we gave it a go.
I only remember the Watford one and a pen shoot out against Chelsea in pre-season about 15 years ago. 10 years ago: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/6116360.stm
And we did and now we've a massive confidence issue and tired side to play again on Fridays having lost at home to Blackburn and lost momentum in our bid for promotion We would never win this cup with Liverpool man united and arsenal all still in it in the semis I'm certain of that
And I'm still glad Rafa gave it a go. It was always unlikely that we would win the thing having to beat Premier League opposition, but it does us no harm for Rafa to see our players playing against them so that he has a better barometer of where we are at. I'd have loved to be in the semi for two more games against Premier League opposition for that reason alone.
don't think you will have a problem gaining promotion (at this stage), Friday night you are playing one of the "unpredictables", good one week, woeful the next, (they were good last week so probably woeful this week
A competition the team you supposedly support played in in the earlier rounds. You should at least know the format.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but from the way the games played out Gayle would probably have destroyed the Blackburn defence and Mitrovic would have had more joy against Hull's.
It's far from over I'm a huge believer in the mental aspects of high level sport I predict a difficult month at least
I'll be honest we dropped some of our players for the match and were still comfortably the better team even though it was at Hull. I don't mind Hull and good luck in the cup but if that's the standard of your play i really can't see you surviving in the league.
