Huddersfield Town stand to cash in if former keeper Alex Smithies leaves Queens Park Rangers for Aston Villa. The club have a sell-on clause on the academy product who moved to West London in a near £2m move in August 2015. Villa’s former Town boss Steve Bruce is reportedly keen on Smithies, and could splash £4m on the 26-year-old. although he has already brought in Sam Johnstone on loan from Manchester United. Town would benefit from any profit made by QPR, although the exact percentage remains confidential. Smithies has totted up 44 appearances for the Loftus Road club, having played 274 times for Town. He made his debut at 17 and was the hero of the League One play-off final win over Sheffield United at Wembley in 2012.
We'll be wanting more than £4M for him then, if Ollie is planning on splashing that cash elsewhere, but surely he must be worth more towards £7M?
Why go to Villa? Also I ****ing hate Villa, doesn't everyone? Don't think Smithies has too long left on his contract so this might affect what fee we can ask for.
If we do sell him, it's just another devaluing of the team. Same with Charlie/Philips/Hoillet, we get rid for nothing and replace with a lesser player. The team gets worse and we sink like a stone. The next thing will be making LH the CEO! Oh where have I been!
Bloody Hell Chery as well! To China, WTF! I can't even go away for a bit without us losing our best players!
CHERY NEEDS MOVING ON HE HAS STAGNATED BUT HE IS A NICE BLOKE GOOD LUCK TO HIM,BUT WE KNEW WHEN OLLIE TOOK OVER HES GOING TO BUILD A DICTATORSHIP NEXT SEASON IM THINKING OLLIE VWILL WIN THIS LEAGUE BY 12 POINTS AS SOON AS HES CLEARED OUT THE USELESS POULTER AND WASHINGTON AND YENI THESE THREE ARE TOTAL CRAP
If we are not going to earn much from selling Smithies, we need to toughen up and say you are not going anywhere. Keep quiet or we'll do a Rob Green on you!
Excellent keeper who really shouldn't be too far off the England squad after a few months in a Prem team. Plenty of Prem keepers are far worse. 18 months left on his contract and we have an able deputy. If we can get serious money for him then I don't think we are in a position to turn it down.
I agree if you mean "Serious" like enough to bring in a rated League 1 striker rumoured to go for £10 million?
Zzzzzzzzzz boring Fantasy Island rubbish. Although I do agree with some of it Ted in that the players mentioned are not very good.
The word "BUFFOON" springs to mind followed by, SCHMUCK,EEJIT,PUTZ,MORON,HALFWIT,DULLARD, The list is endless, but the real question is ARE YOU A COMPLETE IDIOT, OR ARE THERE PARTS MISSING ?
