Lord Howard threatens war with Spain. FURY erupted when news emerged that the EU had handed the Spanish a VETO over the future of Gibraltar under Brexit. The EU clearly trying to provoke Britain. I can't see Britain stepping down over this, other than to grant another referendum to Gibraltar, which would surely get the same result as last time. IF Britain declared war with Spain, the whole of the EU might decide to step in and side with Spain. That could be seen as 3rd time lucky for the Germans to own all of Europe. However, Russia are keen to see the break up of the EU so they might decide to help Britain. Trump isn't keen on the EU so they might side with Russia and Britain. Who would have thought that Brexit could potentially be the cause of WW3?
Just organise an RnB weekender in Gibraltar and drop off a load of flyers in Croydon. The death toll will be up their with Ianapa.
I saw that twit Howard actually make this threat live on TV. When quizzed about his comment, he replied that he didn't see any harm in "reminding people what sort of people we are". Fighting talk. The EU will do anything to protect their precious club (and of course their highly paid jobs). Using Gibraltar as a pawn was not a good idea and clearly aimed to provoke. The EU want to humiliate Britain to scare the remaining members away from following suit. Britain will not stand by and be humiliated by the EU. They have to stand their ground. The only way to avoid a war is for Spain to give way to the wishes of the Gibraltans, or for the EU to retract that provocative condition. Believe me, this could get nasty unless someone backs down
I saw some article on this last night, it appears most of it is untrue, just the media trying to sell papers again and a few people talking bollocks.
I don't read any papers Toby. I saw what I saw and heard what I heard. The rest is me projecting possible outcomes. My imagination ran away a bit (not a lot - well maybe a lot) but it is not inconceivable the way the EU are acting

What appears to be untrue brb? I don't know what has been said other than what I saw on the TV (ie Howard actually did utter those threatening words) and what I heard on the radio (ie a clip of Howard , effectively confirming that he meant what he said).
