Well Cromer - looks like you can close this thread - AN reckons he's going nowhere!!! Some excerpts from today's presser - "Neil aims to stay at the helm to plot a major summer makeover after revealing at Colney on Friday the planning for a huge overhaul of the playing squad is well underway. I'll believe it when I see it!!!! “We have a lot of lads who have been here a long time and I am not saying it is going to be all those guys who are leaving. No sh*t Sherlock!!! “They haven’t been playing and we were happy for them to leave the club but ultimately they have stayed here. We would have let them go but they have not got the moves they wanted. 100pc those players will move on this summer and that gives us a clean slate. YIPPEE!!! “100pc I believe I can take this on and do what is required. The fact is I believe I am the best placed person to make decisions on the players that are here. I know how people behave, what they contribute and This man is dillusional!!!! #meninwhitecoatsplease I have the utmost respect for Delia and Michael, who I have been really close to since I came here, and I will do everything in my power to make sure we turn things around and re-pay them in particular to move things forward and make things better.” #wearealldoomed Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...for_a_norwich_city_summer_clear_out_1_4925816
Oh ye of little faith! At least give him a chance to see if he means what he says about moving on the old guard! He may surprise us yet!
Indeed!!!!! I wonder how many of the 'old guard' will still be around when the season kicks off in August????
No one forced the tool to give Turner and Whittaker a year's extension each. That was down to him, so bleating about it now sounds a little hollow and frankly, quite pathetic! And if he can't start to integrate one or two of the up and coming youngsters vs Bristol third-from-bottom City, now our season is over, why should anyone believe that he plans to do so at a later date. As for closing the thread, JM, no way - it hasn't run it's course fully yet - there'll be twists and turn(er)s galore. Happy to close that "thread association game" dinosaur down instead - it's got well over 20,000 responses and it's got boogie all to do with football
Has he not already had the chance to get rid of the deadwood after relegation and in Jan?? What will he do differently that he couldn't of done last year?? Think delia has found a yes man so will stick with him despite all the sh#t,
Once several of their contracts have run down, this summer, they can't dig their heels in as they'd have no club / livelihood? I think the club was obligated to keep most of them in January but then nobody could afford heir wages anyhow. I have no idea how much Lafferty and Bassong, for example, earn - but it's money that could be far better utilised
It's sad to see people rejoicing over a family man losing his job. I know he had to go but please, let's show a bit of decorum!
True, he should be remembered for taking us to Wembley and getting promotion. Sad it didn't quite work out for him but despite the poor and disappointing season I do wish him the best.
Even though the decision had been made, why sack him the night before a game, after letting him conduct a press conference! Eithe rhave the meeting earlier in the week or after the Blackburn Game
Dave, I take your point, but he just HAD to go before he TOTALLY destroyed the club and as I said earlier in the week, his 'payoff' exceeds what most fans will earn in a lifetime!!!!
