It sometimes seems like that, Cromer. On the subject of swallows and green shoots and such I'm beginning to wonder whether the Derby match might have been a turning point after all. Heresy, I know, for those who want AN out whatever, but I think there has been a solidity and competitiveness showing in the last 6 matches that wasn't there before Christmas. It may yet turn out to be a false dawn, but I'm beginning to hope again that the players know that they face a hard fight to get back into the promotion places again. We closed the gap to 5 points yesterday and have a home match against Birmingham to try to close it further (and home/away matches will then be equal). The key for me will lie in improving results away from home, which has been our biggest weakness of late. Had Oliveira stayed on the pitch, I think we'd have beaten Rotherham, but even with 10 men we dominated possession and made a fight of it. It was a bad result, but it wasn't a bad performance, IMO, considering the handicap we had. I'll put my tin hat on now.

 

No need for a 'tin hat' from me Rick and I agree that the team does seem to be more together than before (the cup game at Saints excepted) and they weren't giving the Wolves players much space to get organised yesterday which was pleasing to see. I actually thought Naismith played quite well for a change and took his goal well.

I mentioned a couple of weeks back that i thought naismith should be given the captains arm band, i stand by that and if he cant cut it as the leader then we should get rid, hes got the character i just think he needs to be given the chance.
