Hornets Player Replacement

So I got an unexpected refund from Hornets Player as its being replaced by a free to air service from the club. Anybody know any details?

 

Some time ago they announced it in a newsletter but also it is on the main site.

Its just the same I think but everyone can view the contents..

Maybe wasn't worth the hassle making people sign up.

Lets hope its worth watching!

I think that this is the old site, and the new one has not appeared yet. There has not been anything official from the club.

 

That wouldn't surprise me yorkie - I watched Saturday's match streamed from QPR Player. The commentator kept mentioning fans watching from all over the world - all the while plugging how great the value of QPR Player was at £4.49 per month. I did wonder if the intention was to show live matches too, but he never mentioned that.

 

Then that will be more than we paid before?

 

When I get the chance or if someone else has it, I will copy and paste the newsletter that explained it. I'm sure they said the new service would be free.

 

Due to the imminent re-launch of watfordfc.com, through which all users will have the chance to experience video and audio free of charge, please note that your Hornets PlayerHD subscription will not automatically renew. Your current package will be cancelled and a refund will be automatically issued in August 2016, following the launch of the new website.

 

but will it be live match commentary.... I hope so..

To me, that tends to suggest a trial period for free & monthly charge to follow.

 

oh blimey, i just signed up to BT Sport! Oh well!

 

Bad move - even though I doubt Hornet Player would be televising live matches. To get BT Sport you need the internet. If you have the internet, you can watch every game for nothing...

 

oh yes i know, but i go to most of them, i like to record them and if they're worth watching, i watch them again! lol (saddo here )

 

I just received an email from Hornet Player advising me that they can't process my refund as I paid via PayPal and the 60 day limit for processing refunds has expired. The email opens up with...

We recently contacted you on 22nd of July to let you know that the Hornets Player HD service is ending and that all audio and video content relating to Watford will be available on our new website – due to launch this week! - at no cost to you.

So it looks like it is going to be free...

 

for the next 9 years, 9 games, 9 days or 9 hours ? i like 9 LOL
