Off Topic Has the time come.....

It's no secret I've been in and out of police cells a lot. I've ended up getting to know quite a few officers and it's always respect, I've got nothing against any individual cops. Anyway, I've talked to them about allsorts, legalisation of cannabis (not spoke to one yet that doesnt think it should be legalised), I've spoke to them about being armed as well. Most seem okay, but I do believe in my opinion, that it would cause some to quit the job. Maybe only little like 2% - 5%, but it would cause the odd one to leave. I know one woman copper who told me flat out she wouldn't ever work in a job that she had to carry a gun around with her.

 

I don't want to see them armed when I'm walking about with my daughter, but that's me personally. It's the right time for us as a country to arm them all now.

I do think it will happen. But not for quite a while yet.

But no, not yet. It will just be another arms race, in miniature, in our own country, between the police and the terrorists and other criminals.

And the only casualties will be Joe Public again. Whether its burglars arming up, just in case, the ramifications of more guns in society is just plain horrendous.
