Mick Wadsworth has penned a new contract which will see him remain in his post as manager of Hartlepool United.

He took over at Victoria Park just four games into the start of the last campaign following the exit of director of sport Chris Turner. He took Pools to a 16th place finish in League One and has now been rewarded with a new deal.

The club's official website reports: "The former Carlisle United, Huddersfield Town and Oldham Athletic manager endeared himself to the Poolie faithful with his direct approach and honest assessment of games."

The 60-year-old ex-Democratic Republic of Congo boss has already signed former Newcastle player Nolberto Solano this summer.
