Tony Adams, Tommy Smith, Norman Hunter real tacklers from a time long ago but Harry's bringing it back.
Sadly he seems to give it away or make the wrong pass at the end of his runs... If he could pick a better final ball...
Harry may be occasionally clumsy in the tackle, but I've never seen him make a tackle that indicates intent to injure like "bite your legs" Hunter often did. Tommy Smith had the occasional lapse in that direction too. Dave Mackay maybe ?
That was the most affectionate he ever was...and only because the wee man was a Scot too Reminds me... https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=vinnie jones and paul gascoigne&id=2A186B5EBAE8F92EBFA4E9A9D3705659B3F9C9D0&FORM=IQFRBA
I love that picture; not many people know this BUT, they cropped the picture at ''shorts'' height to filter out the brown stain running down the inside of Bremners leg. FACT.
That was after Bremner had made a diabolical tackle on Mackay who had just returned for the second time after a broken leg. Surprisingly, Jimmy Greaves was taller than Mackay, something he used to win bets about. Mackay was one of the real men. Hard but with fantastic ability.
He used to run out onto the pitch , boot it miles up into the air then trap it dead to show opposition the skills he had. Got his leg broken at Man Utd by Noel Cantwell, and with the bone visible to all, he sat up on the stretcher as it carried him off.
can see the Arse coming in for him in the summer.... bet they wont be the only ones coming in for him.
Out of modern central defenders he reminds me of Mats Hummels. Good centre half that is equally comfortable bringing the ball out. I think he's brilliant and is destined to play for a top 4 club. It really wouldn't surprise me if he was on Klopps radar. They are **** in defence and Klopp had Hummels at Dortmund.
