Because people wrote him off as being absolutely ****e and barely a footballer. They didn't say 'oh well he's had a tough start but he's an international footballer of some repute and is more thank likely off form temporarily as he adjusts to a new league and country and his undoubted abilities will shine through in the end'.
But not everyone is a fortune teller, saying someone will only be crap or only amazing. And the Polish people who said he was too good for us..well I don't agree with that at all. He's actually needing development, that could happen or not, I have no idea.
Nothing whatsoever to do with being a fortune teller, just wait 20 games before forming an opinion on someone.
That's got nothing to do with it. And I don't think he's great at all, I've never said he was. The whole point is I haven't rushed to form an opinion of him.
He's 28, he's still got 2-3 decent years left in him, maybe more if he can keep his pace. Hardly over the hill. He's no Ibra.
I genuinely thought he was older than that. I had 30 in my head. Still doesn't change much, as a speed player he's about as good as he's going to get. I don't buy this wait for him to settle argument, he's taken to English football like a duck to water. He's involved all the time and not getting caught out. The problem with him is his actual footballing ability which has **** all to do with learning a new league or team mates.
Probably, but should be able to maintain it a couple of years. I think his best is still ahead of him in terms of his Hull City career, especially after a Pre-Season.
One great thing about him is his attitude. For a pacy winger he tracks back well and closes down the defence, definitely suits Marco's style of play. I like that he genuinely seems proud to play for us too, puts up pictures of his family all in club kit etc.
Know what you mean, we really do seem to have a good unity and togetherness that we haven't seen much before this season. There appears from the outside at least to be no ****ers and it's almost like they refuse to even entertain the idea that we can be relegated. We'll get beat 6-0 on Satdee now.
Well said , he definitely had a better game last night then others and he is a decent outlet to get us up the pitch quickly , but you cannot escape the fact that his finishing and most of his crossing is poor , as said above I don't see why he doesn't play right wing , it was a lovely ball to Hernandez , what is the point of skinning a right back 10 times if all that follows is a poke to the near post ... This isn't intended as a slagging off as nobody deserves that last night , just annoying the way somebody has a half decent game , finally , and it opens up the I told you so 's ... So predictable
He played on the right wing when he first arrived and didn't look very good, he also said he doesn't like playing there and we'd see the best of him when he switched to his preferred position on the other wing.
As Sr Silva manufactures the Great Escape Mk 2, isn't there a resemblance to what Warren Joyce did in Mk1? That is bring in players with a point to prove, who've had the stuffing knocked out of them elsewhere? Seems to me so far Sr Silva is doing just that with Niasse, Markovic and Grosicki and in that order the results are showing already .
Right about what? I've given no assessment of him as a player, which is the entire point of my posts on this subject. Did you actually bother to read my posts?
