    Anthony Taylor not without controversy.

Referee Anthony Taylor Dropped By FA After Arsenal Horror Show
    By mac14 on August 19, 2013
Referee Anthony Taylor has been dropped by the FA for this weekends Premier League fixtures after his horror show at the Emirates on Saturday.

While our 3-1 loss can’t be blamed solely on his inept performance, it certainly was a contributing factor as Taylor got several decisions wrong throughout the 90 minutes. As well as giving a number of contentious free-kicks for minor offences, Taylor also drew criticism for a few of the more decisive decisions.

He awarded Villa a penalty even though he had allowed advantage after Szczesny had brought down Agbonlahor in the area. There would have been no complaints had he pointed to the spot straight away but he waived play-on as the goal was at their mercy, but when the Villa player sent the ball wide he awarded a penalty giving the away side a second bite at the cherry.
This one still hasn’t been cleared up as I’m not sure what the exact ruling is, but it is many people’s understanding that once advantage has been played you can’t simply bring it back because Villa missed the chance.

Then of course there was the decision to award a second penalty when Koscielny played the ball. This one was a tough call as from his angle it was difficult to see the touch, but an incorrect call none-the-less and no doubt the game-changing moment. Koscielny was subsequently given a booking – which would not have been the case had the ref correctly awarded a corner instead of the spot kick.

Minutes later he confounded his error by giving Kos a second, and harsh, yellow card. So a goal and a man down due to the ineptitude of the official.

Taylor also completely lost control of the game at times and ended up dishing out four yellows and one red card to Arsenal and five yellow cards to Aston Villa in a game that could be described ‘spikey’ at best.

I’m sure there were other obvious errors from the referee that I haven’t mentioned but it was a truly diabolical display from the man in the middle and he’s rightly been demoted from Premier League duty for the upcoming fixtures.

Howard Webb has been handed our game away at Fulham, hopefully he’ll be able to do a little better.

The Sunday Supplement panel do not believe that Jurgen Klopp will leave for Bayern Munich and believe he wants to turn Liverpool back into title winners
It would be hard to prise Jurgen Klopp from Liverpool, say the Sunday Supplement panel, with Bayern Munich reportedly eyeing his services.

The Bundesliga champions have made an unusually stuttering start to the 2016/17 season under Carlo Ancelotti and currently sit second behind surprise leaders RP Leipzig.

It has prompted reports in the Sunday Mirror that the club are looking to bring the Reds boss to the Allianz Arena, but the Daily Telegraph's Northern football correspondent, James Ducker, thinks it would be a hard task to convince him to do so.

Carlo Ancelotti has come under pressure at Bayern Munich after a stuttering start to the season
"He thinks very carefully about what he is going to do, the jobs he is going to take and when he takes them, he commits to them very seriously so I think it would be very difficult indeed to prise him away from Anfield.

"There's a tremendous allure for managers about Liverpool. The idea of revitalising one of the great European clubs would hugely appeal to Klopp.

"I don't know if, given his past association with Dortmund, a move to Bayern would be a bit of a no-go area for him but I will be very surprised if he turned his back on Liverpool.

"They have issues to address in the side obviously but there are signs of a real identity being forged. A real front foot, fast, fluid fluent sort of football. The fans are captivated by him and there's excitement there. I think Liverpool feel that they have got someone who can finally after 26 years or so can put them back on top."

It is a sentiment shared by The Times' chief sports writer Matt Dickinson, who is also surprised by the early criticism of Ancelotti.

"I'm surprised at the story just because Ancelotti is not a guy that you jettison quickly. He is statistically one of the greatest managers of all time so you cannot jettison him lightly," he said on the Sky Sports show.

"If I'm Klopp, given what I'm building at Liverpool, it just doesn't make sense to me to walk away from that. They are clearly going in a direction that's forward.

Jurgen Klopp has experience of the Bundesliga, managing Borussia Dortmund for seven years
"Maybe we get this wrong and he wants to be manager of a Manchester United or Bayern, a team that shall we say has been more established recently, but there is something of the rebel outside in him.

"He did it with Dortmund and to put Liverpool back on top, it would almost be a great achievement than anything he could do at Bayern with all the benefits that they have got."

I am not so much worried about the likes of Barca, Bayern coming in for Klopp because I think he would have just gone straight to one of the
Current massive clubs if that was his intention. However what does worry me is if Germany ever came calling as I am sure they one day will. However by then he may have been unsuccessful or succeeded in everything he wanted to here and I am sure it would be an amicable departure.

Emre Can interview: Liverpool midfielder enjoying ‘dangerous’ role
please log in to view this image

Emre Can is enjoying himself in his new role under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Emre Can is yet to taste defeat in 12 appearances for Liverpool this season as he enjoys his best spell at the club. Adam Bate caught up with the Germany international to discuss his new role in midfield and why he would hate to play against Jurgen Klopp's side...
Having managed only two goals in his previous 94 senior appearances, Emre Can wasn't the most likely of scorers against Crystal Palace in October. But after netting the opener at Selhurst Park, the German followed it up with another next time out against Watford.
One of 13 players to find the net for Liverpool already this season, Can's newfound goalscoring form is a symptom of the expansive football now being played by Jurgen Klopp's side. But it also reflects his particular new role in this adventurous Liverpool team.

Emre Can hard at work in Nike Football’s Training Apparel
"It's a different role to last year when I played more as the No 6," Can explained as he geared up for a training session in Nike Football's new apparel. "That was more of a controlling position. Now I can attack more and my target is to score more goals and get more assists. I think it suits me because I like to run forward and to be dangerous."
It's a side to the 22-year-old's game that Liverpool supporters had not really seen before. Under Brendan Rodgers, he'd even been used as a defender - a consequence of the fact that the youngster "can play any role", according to Klopp.

Can feels that experience in Liverpool's back line has made him a better player. "It was very good to learn how to build the game and it was very important for me," he says. "I enjoyed my time there but I feel at home in the midfield position. That's where I like to be."
He's returned to midfield having added to his skill set. As well as scoring, Can is a formidable defensive presence in the middle of the pitch. Prior to the 2-0 win over Sunderland at the weekend, the statistics showed that he was winning possession of the ball more regularly than any other player in the Premier League this season.

JürgJürgen Klopp has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for November.

The Reds boss is in the running for the accolade for a third successive time, having won the prize for September and been nominated for November.

Klopp steered Liverpool to two wins from their three league fixtures during the month.

They began with a thumping 6-1 victory over Watford at Anfield before being held to a goalless draw at Southampton, despite a dominant performance.
    http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fir...minated-for-premier-league-award-for-november

The Reds concluded Premier League duties in November with a 2-0 success against Sunderland at home.

The boss faces competition from Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Antonio Conte (Chelsea) and David Moyes (Sunderland) for the award.

The winner will be decided by a combination of a Premier League panel and a public poll worth 10 per cent of the overall vote – you can cast yours for Klopp by clicking here.

Elsewhere, Sadio Mane’s strike against Watford and Divock Origi’s curler versus Sunderland make the Premier League’s Goal of the Month shortlist.

Also in the running are Eden Hazard (second v Everton), Paul Pogba (v Swansea City), Roberto Pereyra (v Leicester City), Dean Marney (v Manchester City), Christian Eriksen (v Chelsea) and Pedro (v Tottenham Hotspur).
