I meant why do they, as in what is the reason. I know the reason Everton do obviously. Just looked it up to find out why. They adopted it a year after Everton and it brought luck to both teams when they first used it.
I agree with the comment above about initially not being overly impressed with "We've got Marco Silva", however, I was at Everton away and this song was a major part of a great City atmosphere. I like the fact that its structure easily facilitates launching into repetitive rounds of singing. Well done to whoever initiated it. ☺
That's it! Unique to us. A follow on to the 'Glad all over'. 'Marco, Marco, you're lovely, that's what we all think of you .....'
All I was getting at was it's a copy of Palace song. As is, falling in love is Sunderlands song. Surely I am allowed an opinion and my opinion is it's cringeworthy. I have no beef with those that like it.
This is getting daft now. I didn't say don't sing it I said I think it's cringeworthy. It's my opinion so need to wet your knickers over it. Let's drop it now please. Have a beer
It was copied from MCFC 'We've got Guardiola' How do I know? I go to games. Crazy I know..... Coming soon : why we sing 'Something tells me I'm into something good'
Which was copied from Palace who copied it from Dave Clark 5 who copied it from Dave Clark 4 etc etc Now I'm glad that's all over
Palace have used that song for several decades now. It seems unlikely that Man City have only just realised that. "Cos we've got Joe Royle/ Roberto Mancini/ Brian Horton/Joe Mercer/ John Bond/ Billy McNeill/ Malcolm Allison.....nah summat's missing....doesnt scan right GLAD ALL OV-ER GUAR- DEE- OLER Yes that sounds right, let's go with that, so much better than Blue Moon"
