There's quite a lot of debate about right now regarding Gini and who actually got the best deal in the Summer. I personally think that the £20-25m we got meant we do as Gini only turned up at home. Overall he was a good player for us I have to say but I think we just about edge it. Here is a link to a page which got me thinking..... http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/we...s-still-in-disagreement-over-summer-transfer/ So cast your vote boys and girls.....
I was on holiday in Spain just after he signed for us and a Dutch guy told me they were gobsmacked in Holland that we had paid so much for him. I think we got a great price when we sold him.
Gone with the neither as he seems to be doing well for Liverpool in a slightly deeper role and still scoring a few goals. I guess after Andy Carroll he will seem like the bargain of the century for them. Think we benefitted more from the cash than having him playing in the Championship.
Both benefitted for me. I think he is a cracking player personally. Particularly in a better team. He has a lot of talent and versatility. On the other hand 25m is a lot of money. So suggesting we robbed them is wide of mark for me - he has done quite well. To say they got the better end of the deal is also wide of the mark - 25m is generous. If you want a robbery then there is another transfer we were involved in last summer/autumn...
Not worth having a poll on that one. Will be interesting to see what Spurs do with him in the Summer.
I have heard that Newcastle and Spurs have made a combined offer to Michelin to dispose of him, Colback and Haidara as a job lot. They hope to have to pay Michelin no more than than £500.00 to retread Rafa and Poch's cars with them. Although Mike has said he will consider copying the Adidas/Continental trainer deal by setting up a similar situ for all the players to wear a new line of Puma/Michelin trainers treaded with his two 'assets'. A prototype has been developed and they are calling them a pair of Coldara. Initial tests have resulted in players being forced to run mindlessly sideways by the trainers. It may be shelved.
In the world of the big boys, £20m isn't so special these days. Compared to the circa £90m Arsenal paid for messrs Mustafi, Lucas and Xhaka, we were well and truly shafted
I'm loving the Arsenal TV meltdowns from the fans. Their infighting makes the Mackems infighting look like a love in.
We paid **** all for Gini I'm tired of people thinking 10 million plus is still big money because it's not ! It's the old 2-5 million bracket you hapless whelps
Gini was a bargain. He played in a **** team and at home he was outstanding. Away from home he was ****, but so was the whole team hence why we were relegated.
Bearing in mind how ****e we are at home maybe we should have kept him and we would be already confirmed as being in the PL next season
