Love him or hate him as a person, you cannot deny that he was one of the finest midfielders of the last 20 years. Always think players should go out at the top and not with a whimper, he should have retired a few years back when he was still a great player for Liverpool.

I'd be amazed if Klopp let him anywhere near the team. And I will be appalled (and amazed, frankly) if he comes to the KC. Gerrard is a good player with a ruinous ego. It's always about him, always will be.

nah he is retiring at more or less the right time.
he would have got slated by the media if he had gone years ago.
I reckon he has 1 more season in him.
it isnt like he is getting injured all the time.

There is no doubt he was a fine footballer and some of his goals are outstanding. Have to say watch SKY sport news earlier the ****fest they are having over him is enough to make you puke.

Yes, he wouldn't want to get into a trophy comparison contest with the likes of yourself.

Those sad bastards in City shirts who mobbed him at the KC, those applauding him at a corner kick and the ones telling other fans to sit down at Anfield because they were getting in the way of them filming him as they asked him to give a wave will be distraught.

Been a great player. Modern football fans think he's a ****er didnt win enough etc etc must be **** and a ****.

Tom Finney never won a thing but is remembered as one of the greats.
Stanley Matthews only won an FA Cup.

Spot on Chazz. Was going to write the same. Bill Shankly thought Tom Finney was the best player ever. But what did he know compared to fans on Internet forums?

At City we idolise players whose only success was a Third Division medal yet some of our fans decry someone who won 8 trophies including The Champions League.

You don't have to achieve more than someone to be able to criticise their achievements.
