With Hughes out, main predictions -

    1) Gera will stay and captain youngsters through Europa qualifiers;
    2) Butch Wilkins will take charge

As an aside, Hughes has been touting himself for last few weeks and definitely sees himself up the road with the Blue knobs. Isn't it funny how quiet they've been this last week about a new manager. No approaches ? Yeah, yeah ....

Obviously, I'd love my man to stay, having been marginalised by MH, especially with us back in Europe. Unfortunately, I think he may take other offers.

As to Butch, it's a good call, but I still rate some of the others touted (see other string)

You wouldn't have to change your 606 name either....

    ...saying that I never bothered...

Thanks WDWW (your name looks like our desirable home results when written this way).
I have been adamant that "the name stays", even if he goes.

Ha ha Gera - well spotted! Would be even better if it was What Will Woy Want!

Anyway, I think you should definitely keep the name

Good luck to him, then. He won't last the season.

I hope Gera goes to be honest. Nothing against the guy and I will always love him for his helping hand through the Europa campaign, but we have much better options now, and I'd wager that Gera is one of our top earners too. Not to mention the fact that he is 32 (I think).

Really don't want AJ to go to WBA. He would be a great and cut price replacement for Odemwingie who looks set to join Arsenal.

What's not to like about Zolly. Top player, gives it everything. I've never seen anyone cover as much of the pitch as him, particularly when playing Shaktar, ran his socks off and played well every time.

That was in the Europa Craven, in the league he was particularly poor this season when given the chance. I'm not saying he's a poor player, he would probably do well at WBA, but we have better options.

Yes but not last when he had a manager who believed in him. I'd love him to stay.

He was given chances Rocks, you could also say the same for Pantsil. He did well under Hodgson but not Hughes? Was that also Hughes's' fault?

For me Gera should stay. He is still the best partner for Zamora that we have at the club. The two of them are on the same wavelength. Not last season but the one before, they were absolutely class together. With another Europa League tour impending, partnerships like that could be priceless.

You can't live off past good seasons Froggy, you're only as good as your last season, and Gera's last season was poor.

I am not going to disagree with you Bandy, Gera was not good last season. However, with Zamora being injured for so long his strengths were not really given an opportunity to shine. Give him a 1 year contract and see if he can earn another one.

I believe JP & Zolly still have a lot to offer. I think once the manager loses confidence in a player the player himself loses it.

I think Gera will really work with Jol's style of play. Here's hoping he will stay.

Obviously, I'd like him to stay, but admit he did not do so well on the relatively few outings under MH. MJ has already commented about the Europa League and the need for a strong squad so as not to suffer in the Prem, and so Zolly does fit.
