Hootun's Brighton losing 2-0 to Citeh, get in ! Am I so wrong in wanting Brighton to be relegated with the worst points total ever ?
I'm with you as long as it's not zero points, we need that low to be reserved for the binners if they ever return! I watched some of the game and they looked pretty good with 11 men parked behind the ball. The thing is when citeh got their first Brighton had actually commited numbers forward, silly Chris won't let that happen again. Better to have their attacks Peter out in isolated 1's or 2's as happened on several other breaks than risk anything. Early days yet, but Could be a long season for Brighton fans Bah!
I said to the fan sitting next to me that I didn't think he would actually get many minutes on the pitch.
Anybody know if Declan is injured? LG gave him the number one shirt but he was on the bench last week and not even in the squad on Saturday! I bet he's so happy with Preston's new manager!
Yes, he has a thigh injury and missed most of preseason. Still not quite healthy and out of condition. I know what you mean about being with AN, again. I feel sorry for Declan.
Interesting news, and good news I think, to end the transfer window before the season starts. But If it's just the Premiership, it puts all the other leagues at an advantage. Say the Neymar thing happened here. A player on a stupid release clause, and forces their clubs hand after an insane (and clearly illegal), bid. Then a Premiership team loses their best player, and can't fill the hole. Barca, Madrid and PSG will just keep snapping up the stars, to whittle down the amount of teams who could win the Champions League. You could just see loads more of what Chelsea do and just buy in tones of players, and have to send them out on loan, just incase of late raids from other top clubs. doesn't it have to be agreed among all the leagues, or none of them? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ion-window-shut-premier-league-season-starts/
Could the club's also shut the window contractually speaking to outgoings at the same time? I.e. if someone meets your buyout clause by 11pm the day preceding the season start date you are free to leave but after that time it is purely at the club's discretion/not allowed. if they sign a contract with that stipulation then they, their club and prospective club all know the situ without any great advantage. Bah!
That would be a good idea for a way to help this plan out. With how greedy footballers are getting though, I'm not sure they would want to place that restriction on themselves. You would have to offer them even more in wages and bonuses to add that to a contract. No footballer has any loyalty anymore.
But their greed drives them to sign in the first place. besides which if it becomes standard practice for the PL they'll all sign. The PL is the best payer with the exception of some of the truly elite CL sides. they will sign for big money, then leave under the new rules for bigger money. Bah!
Pen to Hoffenheim. Dive by Gnarby. Not a Pen. Player stood there, and Gnarby threw his legs out as soon as he got near the defender. The Pen was one of the worse I've seen, like he was playing a gentle chip pass to the keepers arms. Justice!
Wow! I was surprised Alexander-Arnold started again for Liverpool. Was surprised he was on Corners (some have been bad) I was even more surprised he stepped up to take a free-kick in a really nice position. What a strike!! That was a fantastic free-kick!!
Spurs sell Kyle Walker, and promote Kyle Walker-Peters. He gets MOTM on his debut in the Prem and was awesome. Alexander Arnold started at RBfor Liverpool, looked very good, starts tonight in a Champions League qualifier, looks good and scores a cracker. Southampton excel as a club promoting youth players to replace youth players they sell for multi millions. Really wish we would give more of ours a chance. Instead of all these risky, lower league level foreign imports. Toffolo, Morris, Godfrey, Kelly, Rudd, Mathews, Efete, Josh, Ramsey, Cantwell, Ashley-Seal. We have/had the players. Just not the belief. I always thought, getting relegated, now is the time! We have the financial boost from regular promotions and Premiership TV seasons. We wouldn't blood them in the Premiership survival fight, so build them up in the Championship! Are we waiting for league one again? To let them star, get us up, then release them all on a free again?
Almost the total opposite to our play! And they same as every team we play!! Can't wait for the Derby's this year again!!
