On a slightly different note, Championship fixtures are released today!!!! I'll be looking out for the 1p5wich matches and our first home game opponents and will definitely be getting a ticket for the latter.
Will Hughes close to an 8M move to Watford! After all these many, many seasons where I couldn't believe a Premiership team haddn't come in for him. He may finally getting his chance in the big League! I must say, with all the money in football and the silly money being spent. 8M for him, I think is a total bargain. When you think all those years ago, Johnson moved for 6M!! Hughes should be a future England midfielder.
We're DOOOOMED!!!! http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...l-farke-tipped-to-make-a-big-splash-1-5072550 (It's not a typo!!) "Daniel Farke’s new side were installed by William Hill as joint second favourites for the title on Wednesday, following the highly-anticipated release of the league fixtures. City’s German head coach embarks on his English adventure at Fulham on August 5, striving to end a wretched winless run for the Canaries stretching back to 1986 and Kevin Drinkell’s winner at Craven Cottage. Both clubs feature prominently in the market to lift the title, with Norwich and Middlesbrough priced at 8/1 behind the Cottagers and Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa at 7/1. City is as short as 11/4 to earn promotion back to the Premier League, and a good test of their top flight credentials may come in Farke’s first home league game, against recently-relegated Sunderland."
I wonder on what basis they work this out - seeing as he, DF, and many squad members still to arrive, are all largely unknown quantities?
It does seem odd, given how far off the pace we were last year coupled with the extreme cost cutting seen so far. Maybe they know that there is always a glut of bets from Canaries fans each year and have priced against that risk? But they have also priced Villa as joint favourites over all the relegated sides? I know Bruce had them improving and is certainly an experienced and canny operator at this level but they were worse than us last year and also must be suffering with Financial fairplay after their spend last year! Still Bruce was seen playing golf with JT, so champions they surely will be! Bah!
That really isn't that generous given how little chance they have, the most stably mediocre or worse team the division has ever seen! What are their odds for relegation, that might be a more tempting punt! Bah!
I guess this is the difference in having wealthy backers vs necessarily frugal. JT rumours of going to Villa hotting up. How can they still be giving out wages like that on top of a bloated squad, probably on big money with in all probability a big spend agin on players? FFP my ar#e! Bah!
A chairman who keeps his promises - a rare commodity in the hallowed sanctuary of the Premier League https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...league-games-chairman-pledge?CMP=share_btn_tw
Wayne Rooney struggling to find a new club with suitors unwilling to meet his transfer fee or salary demands – as if he needs the money!!! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/wayne-rooney-struggling-find-new-10677435 #whatamuppet
Yet another case of us letting a youth player leave for pennies, getting picked up by a club, then getting money for him to move to the Championship!! Well done to Cameron. Great move for him. And to the Norwich staff who let another future Championship level academy player leave too early without giving him a chance.
Huddersfield first Premiership Campaign signing is a Club record fee. He looks a beast! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40389894
Like Dave said, Barnsley. I'd love to know the fee they paid, but haven't seen it anywhere yet. Wonder if we had any sell on clause. I very much doubt it.
