I haven’t stopped laughing since I read this – ‘Slaven Bilic targets top-six finish for West Ham next season!!' http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...finish-for-west-ham-next-season-a3544151.html
Just seen one of the stats Celtic have set this season is "most players to score in a season" with 16. I'm not sure if that's a club or league record, but it struck me as being relatively low. From what I can see, they actually had 17 goalscorers in all competitions (58 games). From our 51 games this season, Norwich actually had 21 goalscorers. Anyone reckon they could name them all?
Did anyone see the 26th minute "Guard of Honour" John Terry received today? Seemed a bit much for a league match, never mind when it's 1-1 and only a quarter of the game has been played. Sunderland apparently had pre-agreed to put the ball out in the 26th minute so it could happen, does that not open them to accusations of spot-fixing?
You're as bad as Garth Crookes, he's been a massive servant to Chelsea, no matter what you think of him, he's been a stalwart for both Chelsea and England!
Regardless of what I think of him as a player, it seems ridiculous to bring a competitive fixture to a pre-arranged halt in the middle of a half. You could apply the same platitudes to Gerard, and his final game was a 6-1 humbling away to Stoke, where he played the full game. Very little fuss made. Xabi Alonso and Philip Lahm retired from football yesterday. Lahm has spent 16 years at Bayern Munich, won quite literally everything over his career, and he simply clapped the fans as he left the pitch (to a standing ovation) in the 89th minute. Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs...I could list heaps of club stalwarts who retired with minimal fuss. Totti is due to leave Roma after a 25 year career with them next weekend, if he gets anything as ridiculous as a 10th minute guard of honour I'll give up on football. Terry has confirmed it was his suggestion too, which considering this is the man who wore full kit to lift the trophy at the end of a final he was suspended for, I can well believe. By all means have a send off, but this seemed overblown. I've heard it justified in that it meant the club got his retirement out of the way before the PL trophy was awarded. But an 89th minute substitution, when the game was over as a contest, could have served that purpose just as well.
Sorry David, it was a bit tongue in cheek, don't know if you watched final score but Garth Crooikes said he should have been booked for time wasting!
Terry is an obnoxious git who I wouldn't p1ss on if he were on fire. Remember when he parked his Rolls Royce in a disabled parking space knowing he be fined but didn't give a toss? Just one of the many despicable things that guy has done. What he arranged today was an act of total self indulgence too, horrible man and I'm glad he's retiring just as I was when Roy Keane hung up his boots
Luckily I didn't see it and what a ridiculous stunt. As has been said when Gerrard left Liverpool, there was no such theatricals!!!
I see the news coming out now is that thousands of pounds were won on him being substituted in the 26th minute! Shady goings on?
Be hilarious - and valid, if he got nobbled for some sort of betting scam. Make a change from him nobbling other players WAGs as soon as they're not looking
One more for the overseas canaries: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2017/may2/new-website/ New streaming service allows you to watch all Norwich games not broadcast on TV. £110 a season. For those of us in the UK, hopefully that increases the chances of a stream.
Klose want's to leave, because he wont get into the National Team unless he is playing in the top league. He's said that since about January. ...Klose just been called up to the National team. I'm rapidly losing my love for that player.
This is great news for exiled Canary fans. I've been looking into this but I'm still to find out if it's only live streams or if I can get catch up on-demand the next morning. Anyone else know?
Blimey! Fat Sam resigns as Place manager. Has no intention of taking another job at the moment. That's come out of left field! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40021059
