I guess Fellaini won't be moving to UAE anytime soon! What a weird rule! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38978373
So Arsenal suffer a 5-1 humiliation and I can see Wenger leaving at the end of this season. Real beat Napoli 3-1 Edit - So our under 23s have kept their hopes of progressing in the PL cup alive with a 1-0 win over Everton under 23s.
I can also see wenger finally given the boot. He has done a good job for all his years there, but I can't help think he inherited some steel from his predacesors and built some flair on that solid defensive rock, since that bunch; Adams, Dixon, Winterburn, Keown and Bould retired/left he has never seemed to have got a side together with the steel to win the title (Viera certainly added to that steel). they have always seemed a bit powder puff when it comes to the big games or the rough tough teams from the likes of fat Sam. Time for a change me thinks, after so many years without a title or a champions league cup, i think it's time they to try to reach for the stars because if he has failed to win those things for this long, it ain't gonna happen! Though of course things could very easily get worse with all the richer kids on the block, but surely it's gotta be better to try? Good on the younguns, hopefully there'll be a couple more soon following in the Murphy's foot steps. Bah!
While surfing the net I came across this gem of a picture. It's obviously early 60s but can anyone date it more precisely? Spot the very young Kevin Keelan ! Edit:- Checking the Historical Kits website the hooped collars on the shirts and hooped sock tops were worn with black shorts between 1962-65. Keelan didn't sign for City until 1963 so it must be season 1963-64 or 1964-65 #sherlock http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Norwich_City/Norwich_City.htm
Wow, the old Ty-Phoo tea cards. 1963/64 according to this: http://cards.littleoak.com.au/196364_typhoo_premium/196364_typhoo_premium.htm
I certainly hope so General and I would say that Ramsay and I can see - Ramsay, Efete, Lewis; Crowe, Jaiyesimi and Middleton all making it to the first team IF we can hold onto them. Edit - Bristol City beamback on Tue Mar 7th with tickets @ £5 to include a pie and a drink.
I'd add McGrandles, Grant, Cantwell and Hlynsson to that list JMF. A possible consolation if we fail to get promoted is that these youffs could have a chance to break into the squad as older players leave. Halajko had this to say about McGrandles: “I thought he came on and made a real difference for us at a real testing time. He showed his experience, he showed his quality, won crucial headers, crucial tackles and showed a calmness on the ball when it was needed, so he was definitely a big impact on the result."
I had one of those shirts when I was a kid. I saw playing Keelan, Mullett, Allcock and Bryceland (who scored the only goal in my first ever City game).
I see Clattenburg is leaving the Prem league to take up a post in Saudi Arabia. Never my fav ref,too many histrionics and after his diabolical decisions in the Arsenal game 2 weeks ago, I for one will not miss him
He always wanted to be the star of the show though I hadn't remembered his banning from the elite list for "bad business"
So Clattenburg has quit then - I can't say I'm sorry to see him go, as he certainly favoured the 'big' teams with some of his decisions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38993655 Sorry BB - I forgot to post this earlier - I'd written it, but not clicked 'post reply'
Yes Rick, I must say that Grant and Cantwell have impressed whenever I've seen them play and it would be great to see them get their chance as we move on those players who are 'past their sell by date!!'
Just seen the summary from today's presser. CJ and Wes were just shattered from their exploits on Tuesday and needed to come off. Oliveira (foot - fracture) 4 to 6 weeks. Pinto (foot) targeting derby game. Naismith (hamstring), Mulumbu (thigh) no go and JM is in the squad!!!
