I didn't intend it as a generalisation, Cromer, but I can see how it looks that way. It will be interesting to see how Srivaddhanaprabha reacts if things go pear shape in the future, but there are also the Glazers at ManUre, Lerner at Villa, Xia at Villa, Tan at Cardiff and so on. The owner's motives are as important as the money, IMO.
Interesting that you mention the Glazers in a negative conitation. Whilst the fans are not overly enamoured by them, they presided over a number of successful years with Ferguson. They have struggled since Fergie left but that is not through lack of investment or ambition. Angel Di Maria, Pogba and others I guess they new that to really earn money, they needed a bloody good product. Bah!
I was thinking about those years of protest when the ManUre fans wore green and yellow scarves as a show of unsolidarity!
But they were still winning! Granted the means of loading the club with debt was never going to go down well. But in the long run they have been pretty good for United. I think they are a very good model. Continued success and investment inspite of some early perceived risk. Bah!
I think the strangest comparison is between the Italians at Watford and Leeds, though Leeds do seem to have settled a bit!
So Spurs go 2-0 up, but still 20 minutes to go!!! Sounds like Chelsea are going to have to pull out all the stops to get the record of 14 consecutive wins. Match finished 2-0!!!
Adam Savoury@Saves1990 Spurs paid £3million less for Dele Alli than #ncfc did for Steven Naismith - just let that sink in for a second.
And he's still only 20 - for another 3 months!!!!! Just as well he didn't come to CR, as he would only have played for the under 21s!!!
Christ, is the ink even dry on Phelan's P45 yet ? Pete O'Rourke @SportsPeteO Former Olympiakos manager Marco Silva has been confirmed as Hull City's new boss on a deal until the end of the season. #hcafc
He may be quite a good appointment, though it is a huge gamble and interesting that he has only been signed til the end of the season. He has had something of a scattered career so far and doesn't seem to stay long in any recent roles. I guess he'll be hoping to impress and get a bigger job off the back of it. Maybe Hull figure they are basically down and only a genius left field option might save them? Bah!
I was about to say "who!?" but the article makes him sound amazing!! He sounds like a winner everywhere he goes! Only got sacked for some totally strange reason... This could be an interesting one to watch! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38516401
I just asked Lincoln City how many they're taking to the Portaloo tomorrow. I responded by suggesting that's about the same as we'll have home fans, based on the greed of the club in setting the ticket prices
I've just checked on the Canaries website and most of the lower Barclay still has very good availability. I'm sure had the ticket price been more reasonable, it would have been different.
Couple the ticket price with recent form and post Christmas belt tightening and you have a perfect storm for a pony attendance. That and our traditionally meek surrenders in the cup! Bah!
Well, just for some perspective, a reply I got earlier from a binner when I suggested £25 was a rip-off: Chris Peach @ChrisPitfc @cromercanary @LincolnCity_FC@SouthamptonFC It is a bit , I'm only going tomorrow because we are charging £10 normally they would charge £30+ for a league game
