Just seen some of the Gordon Brown was worlds best Chancellor stuff. Please think about this: Blair Brown devised a way of building hospitals and schools improving NHS & education for a short time. All done with someone elses money. It was called PFI and we are all still paying for it as buildings that cost £1bn have so far cost £21bn, many have had to close because the NHS cannot afford the bills, a new blind costs the NHS £8.5k through PFI for a £50 blind. light bulbs cost hundreds because of PFI. Brown made sure your grandchildren would still be paying for the NHS & schools. Illusionists are not Chancellors, we were gullible folks

All 3 were own goals. Each more spectacular than the previous one.

My point exactly that he was smoke and mirrors and not to mention his pension pot raid personally costing people £1,000s of their hard earned and saved money, Labour wasted fortunes yet the joke is that the rest of the world followed Brown's recovery plan so says more about how well he fooled other countries. I hate Labour for what they did to this country, wasted £bn's and destroyed the very fabric of this country with their English hating, PC **** and not to forget ballooning the welfare state for votes. <grr> <doh>

Much more fun to 'unlike' after you mentioned I hit 'like', in the hope that some people might think 'wtf is he talking about'. :D :D :D

    Only you agreed to disagree.

WJ knew he had beaten you into pleading submission.

Not so. Brown held the purse strings of the UK economy as Chancellor. The Minister for Health would sanction any such arrangement in running his department. The only way a Chancellor - any Chancellor - can influence such decisions is by altering the cash pot available to the particular department. Their influence ends there. The PM, however, is free to intercede & demand. The Chancellor is as subservient to the PM as the rest of the Cabinet & is no more a policy-maker for the department of Health as the MoD minister is. The Separation of Duties is crystal clear. Surely you know that, or are you just trying to start an argument? I note, btw, that the tories backed it out straight away when they got in. Oh, wait a minute <doh> The one's as bad as the other!

As a matter of (little, no doubt) interest, the first essay GB set me at College was 'Does Britain have a Prime Ministerial Government'? Researching that was very illuminating.

Then surely you should hate the tories more. They have backed out precisely zero of the things you're complaining about, and have chucked in their own brand of pleb bombs too. You are aware what they've doubled the national debt since they took over, aren't you? Or do tory voters practise ostrich politics when it suits them? <doh><doh><doh><doh><doh>

Got to state again for the record, that I've got as much time for Blue Labour as the tories. i.e. none.

Not sure you can land the blame for this at Browns door

Brown was the only thing that stopped the UK joining the Euro. And he made Tony Blair's life hell. what's not to like?
