I like the guy but not too sure he's cut out for it. It's a nasty business and standing for what you believe in is discouraged.

The first word most ****s would say if you mention politicians is 'Liar.

    It's a running joke that isn't funny.

He is well informed on foreign conflict. Thats where your statesmen are forged.

Fact is May is a pushover. U turn after u turn, hiding from press, hiding from Corbyn ffs. Only leader to suck up to Trump.

Lets be fair to corbyn too

As a labour MP he met all these dangerous IRA dudes.

Did he do it with bodyguards? I dont believe so.

I wouldn't meet Ciarans mum without them

He stood for a minutes silence in Westminster I'm sure for 8 IRA killed by the SAS at Loughall.

He wasn't just meeting these 'dudes' for peace talks I can assure you.

The IRA were already in contact with the Government of the day, they always have been.

Use is a Labour backbencher to them?

Corbyn supported the Provos, quite a few Labour members did.

Quite a few people on the British left had republican (note the small "r") sympathies. That's not the same as supporting the IRA.

Was there a civilian killed then too?

He'd a lot of Irish in his constituency and helped with women prisoners rights i read.

Whatever use he was id say he still took risks with his own safety for something he believed was right. That says to me that he would not be daunted by meeting Merkel on the big stage.

Criticised for being a pacifist now a provo <laugh> can you be both?

Recently yes but it is a criticism he was hounded with none the less

Most likely but I'm talking about my opinion on how he could deal with pressure... not FACTS as such as very few know exactly what went on.

Has Theresa May made the same mistake as David Cameron? David Cameron promised a referendum on the (thought to be) safe assumption that the vote to remain was a formality. Theresa May has called an election on the (thought to be) safe assumption that there would be a landslide Tory victory. The betting odds suggest that a Tory victory is a formality but the polls should be ringing alarm bells. I haven't kept track of the polls since the announcement but if anyone has and can produce a graph of the changing percentages I would imagine that a projection of that chart could be very alarming for the Tory party, and for the pound. It's a bit worrying that a "no hoper" with little support from his own party, could actually be threatening the Tory lead.

Tbh May was only going to get my vote for Brexit, but now I'm seriously wavering due to Tory policies against the elderly and that they are moving far to much to the right.

Problem is there is not an alternative Party! Raving Looney looks a good vote.
