    Yes it is probably a Tory plot ... I gather pitta bread is next on their list <ok>

    Boris is a bit of a fool but the Labour response didn't show them in a good light either <whistle>

    John Healey was silly to respond in kind. Personal attacks always backfire, as Corbyn knows, and he has benefitted enormously from attacks by the likes of Tony Blair. Give credit where it's due <doh> Corbyn has never indulged in personal attacks.

    I am not sure that Boris has worked as a Foreign Secretary and if Lady May does win a majority in June I can see Boris being moved..

    He did well against John Humphreys on Today just now. 101% guaranteed to stay in post at the FCO.

    @The Kish

    Good points.

    In my opinion the working class is not dead. The Labour Party has moved away from the working class, and cannot now be surprised that the working class reciprocates.

    The Old Right of the Labour Party was always strong on patriotism, the traditional family and defence.

    Boris says that if Drumpf wants us to bomb Syria we'll do a Tony Blair and say Yessir, without consulting Parliament. He said the Prime Minister agreed with him, but she's too canny to come out and say it herself without using Boris to test public reaction.

    To bring the election back to the appropriate thread:
    It's traditional for Labour to shoot itself in the foot during an election campaign, but we have a leader who appears to have 2 loaded Kalashnikovs. However, I'm feeling more confident now that we will have more than 150 seats, not because of Labour's appeal, but because of Mrs May's wooden performances, and repetition of "leadership" and "coalition of chaos", which after 7 weeks will bore everyone silly. True leaders don't go around telling everyone what wonderful leaders they are. I realise that she is doing this to focus on Corbyn, but people have already made up their minds about him:emoticon-0119-puke:.

    This could turn out to be a good election to lose (although not a good one to get wiped out in). If Brexit goes tits up under stable and strong conservative government there will be a reaction from disillusioned voters. Similar to 1992, when many Tories wanted to lose because of the parlous state of the economy, and were disappointed when Neil Kinnock snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with his Sheffield celebratory rally. Tony Blair was the lucky recipient of the voters' revenge with his 1997 landslide. Of course if Corbyn stays at the helm none of this matters.

    It's ironic that the Weak Leader is speaking as his own natural self, whereas the Strong Leader is repeating a series of phrases fed to her by Lynton Crosbie. Surprising also that the Strong Leader spurns the chance to show the Weak Leader up on live Television.

    She has nothing to gain by going on TV.... especially the rather left wing BBC....and has no obligation to do so.... in these circumstances why on earth would she? Lady May does not need to 'show up' Mr Corbyn he does a very good job of doing that himself <ok>

    ITV want to go ahead without her.
    But since she is repeatedly comparing her Strong Leadership to his Weak Leadership, you would think she would jump at the chance to prove on live TV how true this is? What is there to lose?
