hi gasheads so then, whats the score going to be tomorrow? on paper we should win this. but macclesfield will be a tough game. they just knocked out hull in the cup and won 4-0 during the week so they seem to have hit form. the local rag in manchester claims our danger man will be our injured left back gary sawyer http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereve...1456299_macclesfield-v-bristol-rovers-preview joe anyinsah went off injured vs northampton. any news on him?? i not seen any. hopefully he will be fit. i noticed buckle saying that he is now concentrating on a clean sheet. i cant see us going defensive as thats not in buckles nature. the 2 goals conceded vs torquay was silly mistakes and the same vs northampton where our clearance rebounded off their striker into the net hopefully we we cut out these silly school girl mistakes!
i think a draw is more on the cards, i do not think maccs 4-0 away win at hereford can come into the equation as hereford have been cast adrift at the bottom. in my view crewe are only there because they have lost to two promo chasing teams and that may add a bit of spice to saturdays game at salop. sadly plymouth at this early stage look bsl candidates with hereford, which is a pity because of low finance and poor administration they appear to have given up the fight. the gibralter based irish consortium were supposed to have signed contracts on june 14. but today is the final final day for handing over the cash. luckily there is a consortium waiting in the wings but with the stock market on the floor and banks possibly in the mire, i do not know where the money is coming from to save poor old argyle. it may be very serious for them. good luck tomorrow. floreat salopia come on you shrews
i was born and bred in shrewsbury but on moving to bristol in the late 1950's. i used to go and watch downs league for one season, then on alternate saturdays i would leave the office at lunchtime and go to eastville or ashton gate. my allegience has always been and will be with the shrews. but because i was living in bristol i watched both clubs, no real allegience but an interest in both clubs
'........ moving to bristol in the late 1950's. i used to go ............. on alternate saturdays ........ to eastville or ashton gate.' Great days aj. I did the same...Atyeo one week and Bradford the next!! Open terraces at both grounds. That's why I can't get into the 'nasty' stuff on these boards. Bit of banter and a laugh, but fans are fans anywhere and we know how much it matters when your team loses. I bet you quite rate Harrold really!
yes those were the days pirate 49, i remember with sadness learning that harry bamford died in a moped accident, i also remember gloucestershires wicket keeper playing for city. bobby etheridge i think. an update on argyle - the admin man has extended the deadline until next friday. i have lost count of the deadlines. funnily enough i do not rate matty h, hence the banter, not nasty stuff hopefully funny
nothing went wrong. we had a few chances. sounded like we had better chances 1st half and they had it the 2nd half. read the thread again and you will see that buckle was concentrating on getting a clean sheet today. due to defensive errors in last 2 games he had his concern with the defence. we got our clean sheet which he wanted. however that seem to have sacrificed our attacking threat. we new this game will be close and draw was the main prediction on here. macclesfield are on a good run and full of confidence. we played them at the wrong time and we still got a point. im happy with that.
