The trialist that scored, I have no idea if that was the defender, midfielder or striker that scored. Or even if it was 1 of the 3 trialists that starte don the bench.
CJS I thought you were at the game in which case you could have had a guess by their appearance, your earlier post suggests that is not the case
DC likes to keep his cards close to his chest. Remember we had Lawson D'Ath on trial and it was public. Then Northampton took him from under our noses! Maybe DC is doing that!
I know 2 of the trialists now. I just listened to 'having a gas' from last night as there was an interview with our under 21 manager: Chris Hargreaves. 1st time I have listened this season. This was a very good interview. I cant believe how much his role involves. He is a very busy man and he sounds like he is a passionate guy towards our club and the work he is doing for us. If you get the chance, you got to listen to it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04b8562 He mentioned 2 names of the 5 or so trialists that has walked through the club in the last month or so. 1st name he mentioned was Jaeheon Kim. He has done extremily well, so good that he was moved into the 1st team squad training session yesterday. He was Nike Academy's player of the year last season. I looked him up on google and found the following.... He is 20 and is Korean. He plays as attacking midfielder but can also play at CM too. He came through Portsmouths youth ranks and was released at 18 years old where he then joined Nike Academy. This academy is a revolving squad of unsigned under-20 players and is run with the intention of helping them find a professional club. Its funded by Nike themselves. The squad is made up of players scouted worldwide and drafted to the squad through Nike Most Wanted trials. So he has a bit about him. Here is a clip showing his abilities in passing, drives and possession ability, creating achances, Shooting and tackling. A good amount of these clips were against Citys U21's and he made them look stupid! Another name mentioned who is on trial with us is Ross Cook. He was the trialist who did score. He plays for Hartley Wintney who are top of their league by 13 points after just 17 games and have a goal difference of +44. They score goals for fun, mainly by Ross Cook. Their league is way way down in non league playing in the Combined Counties Football League. He has had numerous football league clubs look at him. No idea on age.
Thanks for that CJS had heard from someone in the club that DC only wanted British players when I asked at a pre season friendly if the new guy with German Bundesliga experience had recommended any loan players Be interesting to see if he signs if Ross Cook continues to know where the net is. We have signed a few non league strikers in the past who have done well for us
Im guessing where Kim been at Pompey for 3 years and then 2 years with Nike Academy, he should qualify for Bristish citizenship. Just a guess though
There is supposed to be a central league game tomorrow but the last time we had a first team game in the evening it was cancelled, does anyone know if tomorrows game is still on
