Well nearly... League Two promotion-chasers Bristol Rovers have been taken over by the Jordanian Al-Qadi family. Jordanian Football Association member Wael Al-Qadi has been named club president, while Steve Hamer replaces Nick Higgs as chairman. Hamer was previously Swansea City chairman between 1997-2000. Interesting that Hamer took Swansea to the brink of oblivion..... Hope he can repeat it again
Who the Gas or Al Queda ? If it's the Gas then not a lot !! IMO Higgs and co have jumped ship because they all know they'll lose the Sainsburys court case.
You wish.. ! Whats your thoughts on this BB? We have some questions on this board obviously? Does your new ground have to face east? Will alcohol be banned from the ground? Will it help that you are already sheite?
I don't really know Banksy. Any takeover brings with it both risks and opportunities. That said, Higgs' time at the top had very much run its course - he presided over our ignominious plunge out of the league and two failed attempts at a decent stadium. A fresh injection of funds from a clearly very wealthy family will mean that UWE gets built, although they will wait until next month's Court of Appeal decision prior to any stadium announcement apparently. It's all come as a shock and a surprise. But overall, I think Rovers' future is Sunni rather than Shiite
BB in all seriousness, I suppose anything has to be better than Higgs and Co, but this smells of 'plaything' to me. £70m is not a lot of money in football terms and will be eaten up in ground development if you move.
"but this smells of 'plaything' to me." Football clubs generally are to the rich, unless they're lifelong fans. That's the way of the world unfortunately. But if we get a stadium out of it I won't be complaining.
