Jack to a King was purely & simply a "Sales Prospectus" produced to sell the company on behalf of the previous shareholders.

I said that's all the film was done for, spend club money to publicise itself for personal financial gain!!

It's time we stopped patting ourselves on the back and started worrying about our future. Whereas I'll always be proud of our journey because I've been a fan for many years, and unlike some was along for the ride from the beginning, I always cringe when I see stuff like 'Jack to a King' and confess I've only seen bits of it.

I'm biased because I've known Mal Pope for years when our kids played football together for Mumbles Rangers and he used to take the piss out of me going down to the Vetch every week to watch a poor, lower division football team. As soon as we got to the Prem he changed his tune and now he's 'Mr Swansea', making the film and even writing about the team in the Evening Post. <doh>

Bit of a sickener really, particularly as I vividly remember him sneering at me and another dad who were talking about whether we were going to beat Rochdale that afternoon.

Unfortunately, Mal seems typical of many - "success chasers" rather than true fans......

...but he does have the knack of portraying himself as the latter.

I have always said if you read my past posts that i cringe every time i see references to jack to a king......There was far to much back patting and it left out to many truths like for instance there was nothing about Sousa who could have got us to the premiership sooner if Jenkins had backed him.....Like some say it was done to promote the selling of the club and it omitted anything negative.....

Was that the game where we were 2-0 up until the last 10 mins and ended up 2-2. We tried to defend a 2-0 lead and failed. I was there it is a painful memory!

They could remake Twin Town with Huw Jenkins as Bryn and Martin Morgan as Fatty.

I remember we were beating one team 2-0 at half time once in the lower divisions - think it mught have been either Derby or Prtsmouth for some reason - and we lost 2-3. I try not to reminisce too much.
