Sorry, I digress. Patience and the kids are coming to meet me after work and we are going to have some beers and watermelon. Tomorrow will probably have a BBQ and watch some of the Masters. Great thread by the way

I still have that book, used to love reading it, wee Black Sambo with his dad Black Jumbo and his mum, Black Mumbo. And what about those tigers stealing his clothes??? ****ers!! He did get his own back on them when they somehow turned into ghee after chasing each other and wee Sambo made pancakes, ****ing skills from the boy
No wonder you're all mongopoofs if you grew up reading ****e like that. PS: Those books were probably published in the 1920s, how ****ing old are you ****s?!?!
It was actually in 1899 which was 5 years after The Jungle Book, I assume you have read/watched that?
The Jungle Book is a novel, not some racist kiddy cartoon book. And no, I haven't read the Jungle Book, never got round to it.
You can still buy it now. Only hemp jumper wearing, tree hugging, vegan communists would think a book about a boy tricking tigers into giving back his clothes was in any way racist. Buy a copy, read it then say if it is racist, otherwise it is just another predicable knee-jerk comment from GC's resident broccoli pizza eating Spice fiend. Just because it is a book about a black kid called Sambo you think it is racist, tsk tsk. It's not as if the book is called Nig Nog and the Alabama Hanging Tree (which was the original working title for To Kill A Mockingbird)
I pretty sure The Jungle Book had illustrations in it too though, admittedly a better standard than Black Sambo though!
