That's a shame, but a risk you take with racehorses. I'd have to look at my stats but I think Frankel has had a pretty good percentage of runners to foals.

What a shame. Presumably they will breed from her later?

CRACKSMAN is on target for the Irish Derby this weekend but is looking for a new partner after Dettori revealed he will be out of action until the July Meeting.

Pat Smullen gets the ride on CRACKSMAN.

"The circumstances are obviously unfortunate for Frankie, but I'm thrilled to have picked up the mount," said Smullen.

"Cracksman is a great spare ride to get. He's a very smart colt. I don't think there were too many hard luck stories on the day for him at Epsom, but even if he reproduces that run it makes him one of the principal horses and it should leave him very competitive.

"You can't take away from Wings Of Eagles the fact he won the Derby, but this will be a new day on a new track.

"I'm very hopeful of a huge run, although I do think the French horse has been overlooked a little. His form is strong. He was just beaten a short-head in the Jockey Club. Not for one minute would I be putting a line through him.

"There is more than one horse to beat and it's going to be a competitive race. That said, I wouldn't swap the ride I've got and I'm really looking forward to riding Cracksman."

In other news, STRAIGHT SHOOTER is showing as "out of training" so is presumably injured and will miss hiss intended start in the G1 Grand Prix de Paris.

TANINO FRANKEL (2yo colt out of Japanese Champion VODKA) is set to debut in the coming weeks after passing a gate test last week. Here's a picture of him in training.

LAST KINGDOM wins the G3 Prix Daphnis making him 3 wins from 5 starts. Andre Fabre thinks a lot of him but he was affected by the virus that hit French training yards last year so hasn't been rushed. He has an entry in the G1 Grand Prix de Paris.

From this morning's Newmarket Gallop Report:

Great Work !!! Eminent - Martyn Meade
Freddy Meade's Equinity gadget told him that the Derby fourth was clocking 40.2 mph approaching the five pole in a seven furlong workout on the Al Bahathri Polytrack with regular partner Solo Hunter. The Frankel colt looks to have benefited from swerving Royal Ascot and the Irish Derby and will have one more spin on turf before his next assignment in the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

FRIMA was a late non-runner in the Oaks Trial at Naas.

His stats look pretty good especially black type winners/horses to named foals. Off the top of my head you have horses like Mirage Dancer, Cracksman, Straight Shooter, Atty Persse, Dream Castle, Finche, Seven Heavens, Swiss Storm, Monarchs Glen, Lady Frankel, Count Octave that I think could all win at Listed level or better. You also never know what else will come out of the woodwork from his unraced 3yos and I think you could easily be looking at BTW to named foals of 18%+ which would be a pretty impressive return.

He could just do with another 2-3 to be genuinely G1 class as ultimately he will be judged on G1 wins.

I'd say it won't be long before CRACKSMAN gets his G1 (fingers crossed this weekend!) and EMINENT also has potential.

It's a shame that it appears QUEEN KINDLY hasn't trained on but fingers crossed that FAIR EVA might regain her form when she comes back in the autumn.

Hoping that CRACKSMAN will run on Saturday. The going at The Curragh is currently "yielding" and he was withdrawn from the Dante due to soft ground.
