Thanks very much, baby boy arrived at 12.40pm on Tuesday - all well here although very tired! Hoping for some good Frankel results to cheer on over the next few days!
Speaking of which, here are the next few days worth of entries/declarations Thursday: MUSIKEL in a 1m handicap at Newmarket EMINENT in G3 Craven Stakes at Newmarket Friday (declared): MORI in a 1m2f Maiden at Newbury OMNEEYA in a 7f Maiden at Newbury Saturday (entries): QUEEN KINDLY in G3 Dubai Duty Free (Fred Darling) Stakes DREAM CASTLE in G3 Greenham Stakes SWISS STORM in G3 Greenham Stakes COMMANDER in 1m Maiden at Newbury TANGO FIRE in 1m Maiden at Newbury RHODES HOUSE in 1m3f Maiden at Newbury UAE KING in 1m3f Maiden at Newbury IMMORTALISED in 1m2f Maiden at Nottingham Monday (entries): LIGHTENING FAST in a 1m2f Maiden at Navan LIGHTENING FAST in a 1m Handicap at Navan Tuesday (entries): WISHING TIME in a 5f Handicap at Wolverhampton MARINE ONE in a 1m Maiden at Yarmouth It's interesting to see how many of them are getting a 1m+ trip at this stage of the season.
Very good, named after a horse trained by the forum's favourite trainer. Sir Barney will be having an extra large G and T. I hope you are all doing well (I guess big sister is awfully excited?) All the very best for you Princess
Many congratulations on the new arrival. I trust that the Newmarket town crier has been out to announce the glad tidings. Has the father sobered up yet or is he still out celebrating? Looking at that long list of Frankels for Newbury on Saturday, I hope loads run (especially Swiss Storm) as I will be there. Gutted that Midday's daughter Mori is declared for Friday but hoping if she wins well she might run Guineas weekend at HQ.
just seen this thread. congratulations Princess! no doubt you will be delighted with the winner of the Craven Stakes today then
Very happy with that! EMINENT now generally 10-1 for the Guineas, making him third favourite. SWISS STORM has not been declared for the Greenham leaving DREAM CASTLE as the favourite in the race. The other entered runners for Friday and Saturday all stand their ground.
Ooh a potential conflict for me tomorrow: one of MORI's rivals tomorrow is NAFAAYES - a daughter of Sea the Stars out of a full-sister to Haafhd!

She subsequently finished close up behind another Frankel filly in Queen Kindly before chasing home Spain Burg at Newmarket. She is due to go directly to the 1,000 Guineas. Cracksman (Sir Anthony Oppenheimer/John Gosden) Classic odds: Derby 16-1 Ready winner of his only start at two and connections recently put him in the Investec Derby at the second entry stage. He will get to test his Epsom credentials when lining up in the trial at the track on Wednesday. An impressive performance with Frankie Dettori aboard in the Golden Horn silks would undoubtedly see his Derby price contract. Swiss Storm (Godolphin & Lordship Stud/David Elsworth) Classic odds: 2,000 Guineas 20-1 please log in to view this image Swiss Storm and his trainer, David Elsworth CHRIS BOURCHIER It was no surprise many leading owner/breeders went to Frankel at the first chance with some of their best broodmares, and Lordship Stud look to have chosen a mate wisely for Swiss Lake, the dam of three black type performers already. After blowing the start on debut, Swiss Storm made all on his second run at Newmarket. The Greenham had been talked about as a possible next step but we will have to wait a little longer to see him again. Dream Castle (Godolphin/Saeed Bin Suroor) Classic Odds: 2,000 Guineas 20-1 Godolphin will be represented in Saturday's Newbury trial, a race Frankel won before his extraordinary victory in the 2,000 Guineas. Unlike his father Dream Castle didn't reach the track at two, but the Darley homebred wasted little time elbowing his way into the Guineas reckoning when bolting up in a 7f maiden at Doncaster on the opening weekend of the turf season. Monarchs Glen (Khalid Abdullah/John Gosden) Classic odds: Derby 25-1 please log in to view this image Monarchs Glen won with eyecatching ease on his second career start at Kempton this month Edward Whitaker After pulling a mile clear of his rivals in a Kempton qualifier for the London Mile Handicap, it is likely Khalid Abdullah's homebred - who won on his second start at two - will be aimed considerably higher than the series final. Having shot six lengths clear in a matter of strides, he was eased right down by Dettori. He is one to whom you can safely apply the tag "could be anything."

If the report in the Racing Post is correct, it looks like my ante post bet on Swiss Storm for the 2000 Guineas is toast. He missed the Greenham because, although there was nothing ailing him, David Elsworth was not happy that the horse was ready to run; so he may be heading to York for the Dante instead rather than going to Newmarket as a maiden race winner. Dream Castle put in a commendable performance on only his second start in the Greenham although I confess that I had scratched the winner from calculations for the race because he was dropping back down from a mile (presumably under orders from Godolphin as he was wearing the first colours and Hannon would surely have run him in the Craven otherwise). I have to be quite gloomy about the two Frankels in the 5:20. Dubawi’s half brother Uae King had two handlers in the parade ring and walked around with his head in his chest chewing away at his bit; and then never really settled in the race. Rhodes House had his head in his chest in the parade ring and I do not think that Jimmy Fortune had much say in him leading for the first half of the race before he tamely faded away.
Sorry Princess. I was just about to ask if your baby had arrived yet. Congratulations! Hope you and baby are doing well
