Anyone remember the greatest Aussie horse in their history all out to fend off Moonlight Cloud? <laugh>

Only pulling your leg Cyc! I was always frustrated actually that Black Caviar didn't get to race on a flatter track having acclimatised to the UK. I think she'd have pissed on our sprinters at her best.

Would have loved to see her have a proper UK calendar.

I also think, though this is subjective, that when Moody witnessed Frankel win the 1m Ascot race by 11L that week that he realised that Frankel was far more special than he ever bargained for.

Hope they knock out a little one together some day...will it happen?

Given the energy the foal will have, maybe they can call it FRACK CAVIAR? <run>

It'all only happen if they send Black Caviar to the UK. Juddmonte stopped shuttling their stallions to the south when Zafonic broke his neck in a paddock accident in Australia.

Plus they'd never get anyone to insure him for the travel risk.

Excuse my ignorance Princess but could they shuttle the sperm and use AI? Or is that not allowed / not possible?

AI is banned in Thoroughbreds as agreed by the International Stud Book Committee. There was an attempt to overturn the rule by an Australian breeder a few years ago but it was thrown out of court.

    More on the ISBC

This is from the Conditions of Entry to the General Stud Book from Weatherbys:

Service to produce an eligible foal

A Foal is not eligible to be registered in the General Stud Book unless:

.1 It is the result of a Stallion’s mating with a Mare which is the physical mounting of a Mare by a Stallion with intromission of the penis and ejaculation of semen into the reproductive tract. As an aid to this natural service a portion of the ejaculate produced by the Stallion during such mating may immediately have been placed in the reproductive tract of the Mare being bred.

It should be noted that a natural gestation must take place in, and delivery must be from the body of the same Mare in which the Foal was conceived. Any Foal resulting from or produced by the processes of Artificial Insemination, Embryo Transfer, Cloning, or any other form of genetic manipulation not herein specified, shall not be eligible for registration in the General Stud Book.

SOUL STIRRING entered to run in the Ivy Stakes at Tokyo on Saturday.

I can't find out if it's a Group race or not.

Very nice debut win for CRACKSMAN.

ALFAWARIS was very coltish in the paddock, rearing up and generally mucking about. Hopefully once he settles he'll be a nice horse as I think he's had the misfortune to run into a few decent horses on his 2 runs to date.

Gosden said after the race that he sees CRACKSMAN as a middle distance horse and will probably look to start him over 10f in the spring.

UAE KING and COMMANDER both finish well beaten but a MIRAGE DANCER puts up a gutsy performance on his first start.
