By the rules, if he saw it and not thought it a straight red than the FA can't take action. As the rules state the FA can only take retrospective action if the official misses the incident. This would explain why nowt has happened. FA's hands are tied and as you say, it's down to the Ref to make the correct decision. If think it would be a soft red to be fair, as was papy's, but only because how soft the game has become. I want consistency though and when you compare the two incidents I don't believe there is any.
Yeh that's correct. So the ref saw the punching in the face and thought it ok. Otherwise he never seen it And the retrospective action can be taken. Just thought The ref saw what he saw and no offence
I didn't make myself clear there did I. I was agreeing with you Vince. I think the goalie should have walked. No question. The ref saw it and did bugger all. That's why as Bri said, he did see it and therefore there was no retrospective action. Bad refereeing all round.
