This weekend a goalkeeper was clearly seen by the cameras to push his hands into the face of an opponent, a very similar incident the previous week created quite a media reaction and the powers that be handed out a retrospective four match ban. Have I missed something here or is there one rule for goal keepers and another for central defenders.
No you have missed nowt There is different rules for goalkeepers They can use there hands did you not know
For five seconds last Saturday I thought our first goal would be chalked off for a foul on the keeper as his arms had been in contact with Jones's head. It's not often that goals like that are given.
Was amazed that not one of the Palace players chased the Ref to get the goal chalked off, I dont think Jones did a lot wrong in all honesty.
Jones' was no different to Crouch against us, fair challenge weak keeper. The other incident ( was it a keeper for a top 4 team? ) was included in the refs report apparently so no further action to be taken. And this is what hacks me off - even though the Papy/ fletcher incident was dealt with by the ref at the time ( bit of a talking too I think ) cause it wasn't in the refs report then it can be dealt with retrospectively. Don't mind a bad ref, it's part of the game, but I hate inconsistency either between two teams in the same game or across games.
Yes yes but as it was clearly seen on TV that ref spoke to players the ref should be collared for not reporting it not retrospective punishment - but then again ot was a Sunderland player
Re-write Did any body see the Spurs Boro game this weekend. If so did you like me think the keeper should have the same punishment as that handed out to Dillibodji. Still crap.
Way better than your OP, at least I know what you're going on about now. I'll see if I can find the incident for you. Yep, he pushed him in the fave twice, not the same force as papy but double the amount of face pushing.
Yeh seen the clip Yes it was a couple of pushes in the face These keepers seem to be immune to reprospective punishment I new what you ment all the time just buzzing mate I like you posts
If that clip had run just a few seconds longer you'd have seen the referee Mark Clattenburg right in the middle of the screen looking straight back at what was going on. He had no excuse at all for not taking action. Straight red!
