Fair comment and good advice there ASC, as are the two posts above (from Genji and SilvArrow). Unfortunately, the "views other people had from back then are no longer justified" very much works two ways. When people persist â as they have done for more than a decade â to trot out a list of statistics to laud it over those who disagree, or to undermine the quality of drivers deprived of similar success, they should really expect some to air their views in public. Meanwhile, some of us are actually biting our tongues in an effort to save their tears.
Perhaps to clarify where I was coming from, things from the past will not be forgotten, but where a driver has clearly changed or proved doubters wrong about a certain aspect of their driving then this should be given due credit by those who had previously doubted.
Oh yes; I completely agree. It'll be a great day for motor sport when Schumacher changes his ways…
Frank Williams When asked if Maldonado was only at Williams in the first place because of money, Williams said: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/99626
I think he will never change cosi, he has always overstepped the mark in his career As we draw this debate to a close, remember that all the drivers are individuals like us. Whatever we have had against them in the past and now, we owe them respect not name calling. For the risk-taking they do for our entertainment.
His actions and his manner is exactly why he desrves NO respect, who did he ever respect? Racing drivers don;t drive for our entertainment, they do it because it's fun. You'll be asking me to respect a footballer next.
Schumachers driving this season is the equivalent of a wet fart, you know what bad stuff is coming next.

Unstuck and stuck the Monaco post. 910 Replies on this thread makes it the 2nd most posted race thread of the year after Malaysia <appluase> Its also the 6th most posted thread of all time Top 5 posters: SilverArrow 131 genjigonzales 117 Kyle? 71 allsaintchris 62 AbsolutlyGlorious 57
Yes I've noticed that this year the race threads are getting more and more replies. I wonder if that's because we're attracting more members or if the regulars are just more enthusiastic this year. Or both. Either way, good show all round.
I guess last year I would just sit down, watch the Sebastian vettel show, gets pole, cheer, great start, flies off into the distance, wins, shows finger, get drunk....repeat for the next race! Greatest season Evah!
[1] I completely agree, EMSC. It is what I have been saying from the first time I ever ventured into a forum (sometime early last decade: circa 2002/3). [2] Are you teaching me to suck eggs? Never once have I tarred any single driver with the same brush. This is especially true with regard to your favourite driver, who – I think we will agree – very much stands out as unique. [3] Miggins makes a valid point (above). However, I have always had a problem spelling this particular driver's name, and have in fact often chosen to avoid any attempt at it. Not once have I "called him names". For instance, I have never called him a 'twat' or a 'bollock-brain' or anything similar. For instance, 'Schamucher' is a transposition of letters; i.e. incorrect spelling. Such mis-spellings may hint at my disdain for this guy but that's all. I'm sorry if you don't like it but please remember it is not aimed at any forum member (including you, who I very much value here). It is occasionally my choice of terminology when referring to a public figure, and it is not restricted to your hero. At no time have you ever objected to my spelling with any other public figure's name**. I repeat: "Sorry if you don't like it". It's really your problem and not mine. That said – and being aware of your sensibilities – I have gone out of my way to avoid upsetting you personally by pulling a few punches when speaking of this foolish figure of fun (from my perspective), not only in this thread but others where the subject matter is deliberately making jokes from people associated with F1. [4] You may not be aware of it, but I am in the same profession; but I will make a note of your advice. Cheers. © ** List removed for brevity.
