I've set this up, with my mate Nick, if anyone would like to donate ..... we'll fly the bloke & his partner up, night at the Roker Hotel, drinks, etc. It's as much a 'go and get ****ed' message to the terrorists as it is a 'reward' for the bloke, I'm sure a few on here would applaud that. I'm contacting the local media, as well as the club, and will try to get them to cover it on the day. In my opinion, whether you like Millwall or not, this is the kind of daft stunt that shows people we can laugh in the face of adversity. The lad's family have sent their heartfelt thanks for the gesture ..... Sunderland & Newcastle have already contributed. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/nick-park?utm_id=92&utm_term=4g23AypMm
Am I the only one who thinks this bloke looks the spitting image of Robert de Niro in that one picture? (looks nothing like him in any other pic I've seen, mind)
Worth a few bob of my hard-earned. Bloke's a hero. Pity he's Milwall though. I really hate that club...
Thanks for the contribution Sid ..... everyone will be made well aware than this is RTG and Not606 as well as others. Lets show these knackers that we won't be cowed by the likes of them. All contributions are welcome.
Well done Smug I'm sure Roy and his Mrs will have a day to remember Update The Football Community in general have raised a whopping £45,000 for Roy. Millwall FC have issued him with a lifetime season ticket, the first being a Chairmans Club Membership. I'm sure Roy will not need to buy a drink on his travels this year!! please log in to view this image
Thanks mate, but it was just a thought on my part, the bulk of the money came from the decent people on the two forums. Please put us in touch with Roy so we can properly organise things. I'm in touch with the NE media so a message from Roy would be appreciated. Take care and thank's for the update from the Sunderland board
I for one do not see the fuss about this bloke. He got stuck in along with many others who may well have done braver things and saved lives in a quieter way whereas he invokes his infamous and hated football club. The papers have latched onto him possibly just because he made good copy during a tragic incident.
Harsh, mate. There was three blokes with knives and he took about 8 hits off them. The "Milwall" aspect does make good copy, and probably explains the coverage, but there's no doubt he's a brave man.
Quite so in some people eyes and it may be a generational thing, but I am happy with how I feel. I have little time for the likes of this guy and have more time for the likes of the Spanish skateboarder who died defending women.
