    Can you imagine being a footballer and your claim to fame is that you hacked down a 17 yr old in an fa cup final and the fact that you could only get a yellow card caused such an outcry that they invented a new rule called the "professional foul" to stop it happening again... (in an age where it was the ONLY live English football on TV and was broadcast around the world) ... Willie Young ... remembered for being a cheating **** <laugh>

    My favourite Arsenal players were Bergkamp - sometimes a player supercedes local rivalry, and I would have paid good money to see him play. Liam Brady - the most cultured left foot ever and, of course, big Pat.

    'Chippy' Brady, fantastic player and a gent, met him a few times while working at Landsdowne road.

    As mentioned already, Bergkamp, after floundering for a bit in Italy, became probably one of the best players to grace English football.

    I'll go for one that hasn't been mentioned (apologies to afcftw for not reading every comment)...............Dennis Bergkamp. Scorer of one of the greatest premier league goals, one you simply cannot forget. Leicester City away. I think he scored a similar goal for the Netherlands at the world cup.
