I used to work with a lad called Scott who was very patriotic. Always bought British if he could. He exchanged his Ford Mondeo for a Vauxhall Vectra. One time in the factory canteen he mentioned it. I said to him, "Scott, you do realise that Vauxhall is an American company don't you?" "Is it?" "Yeah, it's owned by General Motors who also build Cadilacs, Plymouths & Dodges." "Really?" "Yeah, I wouldn't **** you about this stuff." "**** me, that's ****!". "Yeah I know mate." "Well what about my last car?" "A Ford mate, American again." "FFS, is it impossible to get a British car these days?" "Nearest you'll get now mate is a Nissan." Lol.
I've no real interest in cars as long as they are reliable and get me from A to B In my experience it's Nissan Seat and Suzuki -I've had problems with Fords but many like them. BUT my first car was an old lime green Hillman Imp - majestic indeed ....but not too reliable -
I adored Fords as a young un, and always will. Then I adored VW. Well Golfs. GTIs, had 7, plus a VR6. Fell into being a BMW ****er 8 year back, and will never have anything else. Had an Audi for 5 weeks and I swear it was like having a ****ing skip on wheels after a big engine RWD. Just had a new one, 430M and **** me I would have its babies if it was possible, it's flawless. Had 2 M3s and this is a better car. My lass has a 330 coupe also. We are pure ****ers but we give no ****s haha
Just been getting a walk through their new shed and shown their collection in the back. Some amazing e-types, all being lovingly restored. One old Jag in there valued at 7mill so security pretty tight and nee photos allowed. They had a souped-up, armour plated old school defender which appealed to the rustic in me. Nobody is ****ing with you in that thing. Soz pal, but nee gifts today
I have no love or affection for any particular car maker at all and buy cars as a means of getting from A to B in the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way I can..
sometimes, but more often my bike.. We do own two cars.. A Nissan Micra and a Hyundai i10 which are both excellent on fuel consumption.
Jaguar a bringing a new model out very soon. A mid range version between an Evoque and the Sport. Think the F-Pace looks decent as well.
