    Welcome to 2277. The World is a much changed place, since the great Nuclear War of 2016. The desolation and death is everywhere, huge mutant creatures wander the wasteland making survival for the last remnants of humanity almost impossible. However, pockets of survival are dotted around which, as always, offer hope to those who endure. One such pocket is a small, fortified and isolated place called Megaton. Built up around the remains of one of the few bombs not to detonate, the survivors seemed pretty content with their lot. As always, of course, things change. As well as pockets of humanity surviving, so did pockets of humanoid robots known as Synths. Synths believe their place to be next in the natural progression of man and believe the bombs were man’s way of accelerating their course. These Synths move from surviving outpost to outpost trying to wipe out the last of mankind to finally take control and rebuild the world in their image. This is where we join the story – you are all inhabitants of Megaton but a recent indistinct Ham Radio message advised that Synths had already move amongst you. Tensions are high and who knows what will happen once the Synths make their first move…..


    Roles:

    Synths (4) – trying to hide away from and ultimately destroy humanity to claim Megaton for other replicants across the wasteland (one kill per night), 3 per 10. Have your own board.

    Citizens of Megaton (12):

    Doctor Church and Doctor Adami – Wandering doctors with medical skills, you guys get one save per night which can be yourselves.

    Colin Moriarty – Ownerof “Moriarty’s”, you want to just keep it regular no matter who’s paying, but are the hub for the town and get one piece of juicy ‘goss’ per night.

    Moria Brown – Owner of Craterside Supply, you can’t help but earwig on other conversations and get one piece of information per night, but it’s reliability is questionable.

    Sherriff Lucas Simms – Has the only scanners, one charge daily, can scan one person to find out if they’re human or not.

    Deputy Steel – Can protect someone from the Synths, but not Burke or Boone.

    Dogmeat – can sniff out human or not once per night, but cannot talk (obv) so must try and make his knowledge known some other way. Can’t be lynched, killed or sniped.

    Mister Burke – Arsonist and killer, can blow up one residence per night but the resident may not be there. Cannot blow up the bar! Is due a pay-out by the replicants so wants to kill people.

    Corporal Craig Boone – Sniper, can kill – or not – one person per night. Renegade and off his fcking trolley, can kill whoever he wants. Can only be killed by Replicants.

    Confessor Cromwell – Church of the Atom preacher; will survive one assassination attempt or one arson attempt

    Gob - Moriarty's best patron and town drunk, will survive one attempt on his life through blind luck and not actually being where he thought he was in the event of an arson attempt.

    Allistair Tenpenny - Old Allistair has old money and can use if in three ways; to stop the Synths killing him, to instruct Boone to kill someone using a drop box or to pay off Burke from one arson attack. He can only do any of these things once. Money, like life, is finite.

    Lone Wanderer - So influential are you in this town you can directly STOP any lynching from actually taking place.

    Each player has a ‘house’ – which can be blown up by the lovely Mr. Burke.

    Moriarty’s Saloon – cannot be blown up, but only has space/booze enough for 50% of the total residents of the town; first come, first served. Literally.

    Anyone killing cannot be in the Saloon. Only one Synth needs to kill someone. Remaining Synths can use the saloon. Boone/Burke cannot kill or blow somewhere and use the saloon. Sheriff/Deputy can scan and use the saloon. Doctors can save and use the saloon.


    Turns:

    Primarily after night one (tonight) the townsfolk will all gather and nominate someone to send to the Wastes. In addition, each player will need to submit (via PM, before 10pm) their location for that evening (only half the town can be in the saloon) and their subsequent action depending on character. The round of actions then takes the following course:

    1) Synths will talk between themselves and nominate a) one person to kill, and b) one Synth to do the job. That Synth cannot be in a saloon or at anyone’s residence.

    2) The doctor(s) will nominate someone to save, including themselves, but are advised not to talk about it….they can’t communicate directly, so must fly a bit blind. They cannot save someone killed by Boone.

    3) Moriarty can ask about one of the residents and will receive a 100% accurate piece of feedback. You find out the info and can utter it on a death

    4) Moira can ask about one of the residents and will receive a 50% accurate piece of feedback. Simply the toss of a coin as to whether it’s accurate or not.

    5) Sherriff can scan and be told whether or not someone’s a synth; with the info they can either encourage the town to vote, or just come out and say it, running the risk of being attacked and killed.

    6) Deputy can protect one player per night from the Synths, but not from Boone or Burke.

    7) Dogmeat can sniff out whoever they want, once per night, but cannot use words or their dog collar will explode killing them instantly. Can’t denote roles, only human/synth differences.

    8) Burke can blow up one residence per night, or not. They are on the side of the Synths are trying to remove humanity.

    9) Boone can kill one resident per night, regardless. Nobody can be protected from Boone, someone shot by Boone – who is a sniper – is instantly killed, no last words as their head explodes in a shower of bone and brain. He wants revenge on the Synth for killing his partner.

    10) Cromwell will survive one attack because of his mutant regeneration from years of worshipping a disused atomic bomb. Boone killing you is the only way you die first time.

    11) Tenpenny can choose to use any one of his three pots of gold.

    12) The Lone Wanderer gets to choose whether they save the person selected for a lynching.

    PM's - Only the Synths can PM each other. The only decision for the day time is who to send out to certain death in the Wasteland. In addition all night-time decisions by the players must be with me via PM by 10pm each day. At 10am each morning Three Dog (me) will announce via his radio broadcast any events from the night before.

    The goal is to out and kill the Synths. Or kill the humans. If there are more Synths than people, they have won. Or once all Synths are dead, the humans have won.
