Just seen this on the EADT website: AN FA spokesman has today confirmed that an investigation into events immediately following the East Anglian Derby is under way. Ipswich Town suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at the hands of their local rivals, Norwich City, leading to ugly scenes after the match. The focus of this investigation will be on reports that following the defeat, Town manager Paul Jewell was seen leaving a local bookmakers laughing and carrying a "considerable" sum of money in a Netto Carrier Bag. A source within The FA has confirmed that the result had initially raised eyebrows, stating that "such an abject failure could only be the result of match fixing", and also that Town appeared to "roll over and die, offering little or no resistance, allowing Norwich to totally dominate". If found guilty of match fixing, Ipswich could be hit with a hefty fine and relegation to the Suffolk and Essex Football Conference Division Seven F, a move which would suit Jason Scotland.
