He's not hated, certainly not by the masses. But it doesn't help that Jose has gone to a rival and he's one of those guys who is hard to like when he is not your own because of the ****e he comes out with daily! As I've said above, the whole thing is a pantomime when he comes to the bridge but day to day, most Chelsea fans have moved on from him.
Most of your fans hounded him out of the club last season tbf. And your comment about moving on only confirms there was something to move on from. He is still your greatest ever manager, I just don't see that dislike for similar e.g. Fergie, Shankly, Clough ALL of who were equally abrasive characters loathed by rivals but adhored by their own.
The Chelsea fans absolutely did not hound him out of the club. You'll always get the odd fan who goes against the grain but most were sad to see him go last season. His name was sung at the very next game after he left. Fergie is not similar at all. He had more success, was at United a lot longer, left on a high and never managed a rival. Football fans are largely fickle, Chelsea or otherwise. Most of the noise last night was for Conte rather than against Jose, which is how it should be.
Internet fans like Treb confuse the noise on 606 generated by the likes of Chelsea Pensioner and the media with what happens at stadiums. Which is understandable. A few fans in Gate 14 jokily sang Sit down and Eff off Mourinho and were drowned out by the whole of MHL Gates 7-13 singing Antonio for most of match. A few fans wanted Fergie out 2004 and were anti-Giggs too...
Me thinks you protest too much... which is kind of ironic given the topic of debate. You lot were slating Mourinho when you were midtable last season, well before he left OR joined United. You can rewrite it all you like but everyone remembers.
You're the only one quoting CP, I havent mentioned him once. Perhaps you can remind me of the wonderful send off your fans gave him at his last few home games at Stamford Bridge. You know, the ones where the fans were openly calling for him to go? And then after he went those same fans couldnt even bring themselves to say anything nice about him? You're not on your own though, it seems Arsenal fans are as fairweather as you lot and planning on flying a banner for their greatest ever manager, so maybe it's just a London thing. At the end of the day he is your club's greatest ever manager and yet most Chelsea fans can't even bring themselves to say it. It's at best a begrudging "we acknowledge all that he's done for the club" which is hardly the same as United fans talking about their unwaivering support and adulation for Sir Matth Busby (prior to Fergie) despite the fact the end of his tenure was ALSO rocky.
We're just happy you're back after your disappearing act last season. Glad you finally made it off that metro train in Paris fella
It hasnt ended mate. I know you felt that way in November last season, but some of us carry on until May. We still have a trophy in Europe to play for. I can appreciate that must be alien to you these days
Yep,you've a chance in the other crap competition, great days eh?.. Do you think we'll do the double,or just win the league?
