Just when it looked like Haas were doing everything right... I'd hoped they wouldn't put a couple of American journeymen in the car for publicity back home, seems they've gone one step further and gone for a token female inclusion. Hopefully they'll stick someone half decent in the other car.
Lotus CEO Matthew Carter says Pastor Maldonado is not untouchable and that the Venezuelan has to prove himself to keep his seat with the team. Maldonado brings significant sponsorship to the team, most notably from Venezuelan state-owned oil company PDVSA. With that multi-million pound deal making up a large part of Lotus' budget, dropping Maldonado would leave a large hole in the team's financess. But Carter has scoffed at suggestions that Maldonado's seat will always be secure.
Bit harsh to criticise Maldo now I would have thought? Been plagued by bad luck this season, its far from all being his fault he's without points.
McLaren scoff at reports Jenson Button's future is in doubt 'Silly season' whirls into life in Montreal just six months after JB signed two-year contract extension with McLaren By Pete Gill McLaren have scoffed at fresh reports that Jenson Button’s Formula 1 future is, once again, in doubt. Just six months after Button signed a two-year contract extension with McLaren after prolonged deliberations within the team about whether to appoint the veteran or Kevin Magnussen as Fernando Alonso’s 2015 team-mate, a British newspaper has claimed the former world champion is already in danger of being dropped for 2016. ‘Jenson Button could be given the boot by McLaren at the end of this season — despite signing a two-year deal in December,' reports The Sun.
Manor get a lot of sympathy after signing up for a sport with a $40m budget cap, but they need to do something sooner rather than later. Either they have to call it quits which would be a shame or put a concerted effort into threatening points. The Honda engine won't help in reality but hopefully it might come good. If they can get it at cut price and plough some funds into a better chassis and aero then at least you can say they're trying to move forward. They really are just treading water at the moment, which in many ways you can't blame them for. With only 10 teams around they are playing Bernie at his own game.
So doing the opposite of McLaren. Either they believe they can beat Ferrari with their own engine or they're looking to sell the team and so getting it a better engine to make it more desirable. Or its all speculation...
Why would Ferrari risk an opponent in RB with their engines. Unless they become the new sister team, and Renault completely take over Torro Rosso like it's been rumoured.
Ferrari should WUM them with faulty engines... (Seriously would Red Bull be that desperate). Anyway this is a non story taken from a quote from Dr Bellend joking he would rather have ferrari engines than renault.
Honda has said it is not talking to Manor Marussia about an engine deal for 2016, although it is open to supplying teams other than McLaren in the long-term. Reports in recent days have suggested a link between Honda and Manor Marussia, who are currently running Ferrari’s 2014 power units in a year-old car. But although Manor Marussia president Graeme Lowdon has said that their engine supply remains open for next season, the Japanese manufacturer has told Sky Sports Digital: ‘Honda have not been speaking to Manor.’ There has also been speculation that Manor Marussia might serve as a ‘B-team’ to McLaren and, perhaps, a destination for drivers Kevin Magnussen and current GP2 series leader Stoffel Vandoorne. Meanwhile, Honda, which is returning to F1 this season, said it hopes to supply teams other than McLaren in the years to come. ‘We are invested in F1 for the long term, so having customer teams has always been a consideration for the future,’ it added. ‘However, main priority at the moment is to focus on McLaren-Honda.'
