From 2015, the minimum combined weight of car and driver will be raised by 10kg to 701kg. --> Thanks to Smithers.
How long is it going to take until someone posts in the wrong thread I wonder? Also, you can't give Vettel the number 1 just yet. Need to wait at least until April.
Interesting getting rid of tyre warmers . Still the drivers will just have to take it steady to start with .
I don't think any current driver line-up is guaranteed for 2015. Contracts are there to be broken, not honoured.
There's been rumours about Alonso to McLaren. I could see his relationship with Ferrari completely deteriorating if things don't go well next season. I'd like to think Hulkenberg will be picked up by a top team sooner or later, besides, he changes team every year. I think Ricciardo's fairly secure, but if Vettel destroys him and Kvyat performs spectacularly... Red Bull have been ruthless with drivers in the past. But I do think both Red Bull drivers will almost certainly stay.
Can't see Alonso going anywhere near McLaren now RonDennis is back .with Bouilier in the hot seat, how about Grosjean to McLaren in 2015 . Also I can see the return of Hamilton to Mclaren .Brawn no longer at MB, RD back in the McLaren fold and HONDA. engines ....... Honda will want a Racer, and like him or not ,Hamilton is a racer.
I think Hamilton will drive for McLaren again one day, but 2015 feels too soon. I can't see him turning his back on the Mercedes adventure after only two seasons especially as the first one was much better than expected. Also a lot of accounts cite Ron Dennis as one of the reasons McLaren lost him in the first place.
I think Hamilton wants a Red Bull drive, but Red Bull would only take him if Vettel left, and Vettel would only leave if they were uncompetitive, in which case Hamilton wouldn't want to drive for them anyway.
Lewis doesn't fit the Red Bull team Psychology I'm afraid, there's a certain mindset you can see from Vettel and Red Bull which you don't get from Lewis and his psychological history. Could you imagine Lewis taking **** from Helmut Marko with the way he talks to Vettel f**king up sometimes? This a 3 time world champion at the time... Lewis fits the mindset of Mercedes and McLaren, glamour and sponsor power, if he left for Red Bull he would be told to change his whole mindset or don't bother coming in. I also bet they would tell him to see a psychologist to finally sort his head out because you can tell he's an individual still majorly troubled by a lot of things in his life where as Vettel is mentally complete and far more stable than any driver on the grid at the moment.
Bernie Ecclestone is planning to offer a reward of €1 million to anyone who comes forward with evidence of teams of breaking the budget cap, which is set to be enforced in 2015. From next season onwards teams will have to adhere to a $200 million budget cap in an attempt to curb the costs of competing in the sport. Even though such a plan is hard to enforce effectively, Ecclestone hopes the reward will help police the new financial restrictions. "The plan under consideration is to give €1 million to any whistleblower whose knowledge is proved to be accurate," Ecclestone told the Daily Express. "We will then say to the team that the following year you will lose three of the maximum points you have scored. Then let's see if they want to cheat." Ecclestone also told the newspaper the reward will be paid to anyone who has valid evidence, not just F1 personnel. Though the budget cap has been agreed in principle, Ecclestone admits there is still a lot of work to be done to decide exactly what the new financial restrictions will entail. "We have approved the budget cap. It is going to happen. Everyone agreed to $200 million," he added. "What hasn't been agreed is what is in the $200 million. Unless we include everything, I am sure people will find ways around it. It's going to be difficult." Read more at http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/144787.html#ir9FKj0qSIC8hkZK.99
i really don't see what good that will do, if anything it will just discourage new and/or smaller teams from making significant investments in facilities and R&D which would allow them to catch up to the bigger, already established teams, who will only have to axe a few jobs here and there to meet the new rules.
