Arsenal Middlesbrough (the smoggies always seem to beat us at The Riverside) Liverpool A generational thing perhaps but I don't really hate the Yorkshire teams. Leeds and Wendies fans can be pretentious at times but it's more indifference compared to Arsenal, Liverpool and Boro.
I'm not exactly sure why they don't like us, but their fans are a set of ****ers. I went there recently to watch Ferriby play them in the playoffs (which NFU won over two legs) and they gave it large to us in the away end about being a **** team and that "Ferriby's a ****hole" I'm not sure they've been. There are 70 away fans and close to three thousand Boston fans, it was hilarious.
It's a strange logic. To use a non-football comparison you're basically saying I can't hate rapists because it would mean I love paedophiles, when in reality I dislike both.
Arsenal and Leeds, although I did harbour an intense disliking for Sheffield United after one of their lot lobbed a chunk of brick that hit me on my head many years ago!
I don't like Leeds but I also haven't really experienced the real rivalry. Maybe I'm too young or having never lived in Hull may have changed things but they've never been relevant to me, either different league or not really competitive or a threat. I'm assuming rivalry relates more to the fans than the footy though. ****ing hate Arsenal and Chelsea. Really dislike West ham, Leicester and Burnley oooh and Sunderland OH **** HOW CAN I FORGET> Palace the ****ing ****s. Can only narrow it down to two, Arsenal and Palace
Arsenal Leeds Sheffield United Used to dread playing Burnley until we tonked them 3-0 at the KC and I was there Disliked Leicester for a while under Pearson When I was at Leven CE Primary we hated all 4 Hornsea teams and won the league once!!
I've only ever seen the City-Leeds rivalry perpetuated by us, presumably in response to all the Hull whites dotted around in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Their main rivals are Man U. I've never seen Leeds as our rivals, we've spent more of my supporting career below them than we have at their level or above. I consider Scunthorpe our rivals, do love a good Humber Derby. Would take the edge off slightly if we had two next season, but hopefully it won't come to that. I also seem to remember Scarborough not being fond of us either. EDIT: I also ****ing hate Derby.
I agree about Leeds. We've never been rivals really have we. Its more the Hull Whites as you say that are hated.
I went to school in the early 90s and there were a fair few Leeds fans, but I never got any grief from them for being a City fan, they just questioned me in disbelief. Some of them had never actually been to Leeds, at least I could say I'd been to our games. I remember the York Nomads giving us a bit of bother a while back, they're a nasty set of bastards. They don't like us either, York. You'd have thought that would have been more of a rivalry between clubs. Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Lincoln were the ones for me growing up and as I said, to a lesser extent Boston and Scarborough. I seemed to remember something about Rochdale, would there be anything in that? I could be wrong, I'm digging from memories at times when I was six or seven. EDIT: it might have been Mansfield.
My Dad used to say Grimsby was the real Humber derby Yep York transit crew were brick lobbers... Played golf against the Scarborough manager in the 90s and beat him
People go on about the White ****e , but the blades are beneath contempt . They are the true vermin . That day at Wembley bettered all that they have done to us .
White shyte for me .. like many of the so called 'big' team fan bases constantly whinging that they should be in the top tier rather then teams like us .. their constant bleating about how they were a super power on the game .. albeit 30yrs ago and more .. hate the fkrs.
