Well deserved win for France. Germany have been poor all tournament, never looked like the sum of their talent and totally lacking a plan B. Deschamp had their number and swatted them away with relative ease. Never understood why the commentators were so commited to saying Germany were dominating in the first half, France kept them at arms length for most of the match. Perhaps if Schweinstieger didn't decide to keep the ball at arms length they might've kept it level though
Germany dominated possession, had plenty of midfielders comfortable on the ball and passing it about, but too little directness and nobody to put the ball in the net. Ozil must have thought he was still playing in a red and white shirt.
No doubt over on the Goon board they're saying he was the best player on the pitch. They've been saying the same about Ramsey all tournament, even though in every single game he appeared to be playing in a completely different match to his teammates.
Things that Ramsey was guilty of in every match he was involved in: * Wasting good attacking play by dribbling into blind alleys rather than pass to his teammates (especially against Slovakia and Northern Ireland) * Regularly venturing too high up the pitch and inviting more pressure onto Ledley and Allen when the opponents countered * Failing to close down on the edge of the area (most obviously for Naingollan's goal) * Having a fine pass completion rate...for the other team (especially against Belgium and Northern Ireland) If someone dyed Ryan Mason's hair blonde and had him play, I doubt anyone would've noticed the difference.
Well, PNP I accidentally gave you a like for this comment (as opposed to the like on your previous comment, which was intentional). I’d intended to reply, but have decided on reflection that I have nothing worth saying. I know, I know. What took me so long?
I've done that a load of times! I'll go to reply to a comment and then realise that I'm just echoing what's already been said and delete it quickly. That or thinking better of something utterly dense, generally. Not always though, unfortunately.
Proof, if any were needed, that there's no justice in the world. Mark ****ing Clattenburg has been given the final.
An action that you would hope would have been echoed in the England camp as well - although you know in your heart it probably didn't happen!!
Wish I could find the parody of The Streets "Fit but you know it" that some Irish lads did for Englands' Euro 2004 campaign.
You'd think a Gooner would celebrate a team finishing in the top four but never coming close to winning, wouldn't you?
