We are today linked with the signing of Enzo Perez for around £8M from Valencia. A midfielder from Argentina.

Again, like all our rumoured links, I have never heard of him!

We should sign him just to **** with Merson's heed.

Don't think he's scored in 3 years. Not for me thanks. One Perez is enough.

I remember him at Benfica, he looked decent. Not sure how he got on in Spain, but maybe not that well as he didn't move there that long ago?? Must be a canny age now as well, but perhaps Rafa is looking to add some experience to a squad which is a bit short on it.

Why spend 8m on a foreign older (31+?) CM who has no goal scoring ability and loves a card or two when you could have gone out and got Hughes for the same price, English, scores goals, great backup/comp for Shelvey etc... oh wait he ended up at Watford LAST WEEK!

I assume he is competition for Hayden? A better tackle rate than Hayden for Valencia.

From memory he won't give the ball away anywhere near as much either! That should be Haydens main focus, improving his distribution and understanding why a 5 yard pass is a good pass at times.

So in other words we are buying not only a massive improvement in that position but someone who can teach Hayden! Excellent!

I'm still gutted about Hughes! Especially for the price quoted!
