I think CANADA is referring to BEINConnect which is garbage here and there. When watching City-Toon in the League Cup quarters the coverage kept freezing and glitching because it was coming through Connect not one of the channels.
How about you spend the next few weeks working how to stream it for us back in the UK then we contribute to your costs?
Looks like the club is looking into doing it theirselves, judging by prices for the UK-based content it should be promising.
Has anyone tried to register on this new Tiger TV service yet ? (The one that's replacing the TigerPlayer service).
I don't know what you mean by that. We won't be getting live games in the UK through the club's website.
You'd need to subscribe to a service that would get you an IP address in one of the countries that will be available for live game transmission. That'll probably cost you around 5 quid per month. No confirmation that live streaming has been approved yet as far as I can tell on the Tigers TV service for foreign locations.
I have a VPN already but what about the problem of paying? Wouldn't they spot through your credit card payment details that you weren't outside the UK?
I haven't put this to the test yet myself, but I suspect the driving factor in their systems would be a check of the geo-based IP address, not the banking/credit card issuing institute's geo-location. Their only concern would be whether the payment goes through as a result of sufficient credit in your cc account. Hooking your credit card to international paypal would shield that personal banking data from them anyway would it not ? (an added layer ?). Let's face it, how big is the take-up of Tiger TV by ex-pats living abroad likely to be ? A few thousand at the very limit I'd suspect. Not worth them putting in super-sophisticated checking logic ?
I didn't suggest you would? I was saying the 5 quid a month for replays with commentary is promising as that is the minimum price point the club could apparently set. Suggests they might also be providing an international option at an affordable price.. unless they use us to subsidise you lot!
A lot of places like Netflix have shifted to assessing credit card locations rather than IP addresses for this very reason.
What's the difference between an ex-pat and a migrant? Seems to me it's one is foreign and the other isn't. Edit - soz, just saw this was already covered.
I wonder how many overseas serial Allam bashers will willingly pay them money for this service? You have a decision to make now. Are you a **** or not?
I'm a ****, but I'm still not paying for it. Mind you, depending where you are, I'm probably not overseas.
So far, it has been impossible to register on this new site. In addition, I have been unable to log into TigerPlayer - it tells me it has changed to some other site. I've phoned the KCOM, Hull City Tigers and god knows how many other related phone numbers, getting the run-around as no-one knows anything. Just another example of the tin-pot organization that is run by the Allams. Why announce & release a new service that is incomplete in it's functionality, and is "partially" tested ? A ****ing joke, as usual.
My $10 a month or whatever it ends up being barely makes a dent in a player's weekly wage, I don't really care.
That old selfish argument. Might as well not give to charity either, I mean my £10 a month won't cure cancer...
