I'd love to see a team that had been in the championship in teh last five years get into the CL, without spending hundreds of millions, I don't think it'll be either of us though, losing their coach and half their team who desired to further their careers in CL football means it'll be Southampton, The irony is too strong for them not to.
See? They genuinely think they're comparable to Arsenal! Recent history is probably the last 15-20 years.
No, I don't see? And we do compare to them. Badly, but still a comparison. We are.year in, year out, the best of the rest after the top 4/5.
If we beat Sunderland today, and Arsenal lose to £ity tomorrow, we go above them in the Prem. Surely that makes us better than Arsenal? Also, don't forget that we thrashed a Chelsea side that Arsenal couldn't even score against. That should tell you something.
And if you lose or draw today (unlikely but possible) and we beat Hull tomorrow, we go above you. Does that mean we would be better than you? Probably not considering the level of investment in your team and the depth of your squad. The gap is certainly closing though. Temporary league position doesn't mean much. At the end of the season, you will be below Arsenal. Guaranteed.
Trick, the important difference is very simple. The professional footy pundits expect us and Arsenal to be going hammer-and-tongs at each other all season, fighting for a top 4 slot. They don't expect the Hammers to be there or thereabouts, at all, and view any rise above us to be nothing more than a freakish blip.
West Ham will finish 7th. As much as I hate Fat Sam, he has got a strong West Ham squad playing efficient, point producing football, so he has to take credit for that.................the ****a
lol, how for how many weeks have you been above Arsenal in the history of EPL again? we're not talking about finishing above them, which would be a freak result as it has never happened in the entire history of the EPL
Lol at HIAG sweating and squirming now that West Ham are hot on the heals of the Spuds again. The debate about the North London Power shift has shifted to whether power is shifting from N17 to Upton Park http://www.not606.com/threads/the-north-london-power-shift.291448/page-17#post-7649128
Er... no, it hasn't, Chuckles. But there is another thread for posters to debate whether or not you Spanners will be able to maintain top-half football, next season.
I can smell your fear from here HIAG about the North London Power shift being a shift from Spurs to West Ham.
